it depends on the sale. also depends on the sound you wanna get. go to www.musiciansfriend.com or to the fender or marshall websites. plus 100 watts is way more then you need anyway unless your a pro.

the marshall will definitly sound better, but also cost more. Unless you're planning on playing at really big venues you probably won't need a 100w amp, especially if its a tube amp.
I know this is kinda out of the question but I would recommend a Carvin amp. They're having a big sale on their solid state amps (SX series). but if you're looking for a tube amp I'd check out the MTS or Legacy series (steve vai plays through an legacy amp)

Marshalls are the best, nodoubtaboutit, but 100 watts? 65 or 75 should do you, unless you're trying to fill an entire concert hall.

although marshalls are definitely better, you might want to check ebay cause some of the vintage fenders sound pretty good

Yea man marshall all the way. Although everything I've ever heard is that Peavey's are better on the lower watt range. But I mean, you don't need that great of quality with 15-25 watt practice amps.

Marshall. I have a Fender, and it seriously sucks.

marshalls and les pauls all the way. maybe a sg can be used infrequently. i have two marshall 4x12's with ampeg heads, and an old ampeg 4 x12. the ampeg rocks my ass, its can bust volume and keep tone real nice. when i hear the tubes start to kick in on it, its rock time

They are both awesome amps but it all depends on what sound you like and if you like Jimi hendrix you should get a marshall but it also depends on what you want to pay but overall its totally about sound i bought a fender for better on amp distorstion levels buy what you want and what sound you like
