Redoing a metal rail.

I'm going to grind down my metal rail this weekend and reprime/repaint it. I can't remember what type of paint i used last time. could anybody refresh my memory on the best way to go about doing this.

how come your painting it?  couldnt you just sand and wax it?  unless im not sure what you mean

sanding and waxing will be just a temporary fix. As soon as it gets wet, it'll rust right back up.

If you go to a local Home Depot or Rona, just explain the situation to them. There are all sorts of outdoor paints that are meant to be applied to prevent rust and wear. They all come in spray-paint, so that will help when applying an even coating. Anybody in the paint section should know their stuff, just make sure they know it's sticking to steel/metal and it's got to be able to withstand all season conditions.

ya but i think there is a certain type of paint that also slides really well i forget what type it is but i remember it being mentioned somewere
