Mac laptop

i was wondering what mac computer would be the best for me i bascially need it for making a ski movie like what model and size and room

alright well mac makes the macbook pro and macbook. dont get macbook air. Macbook pro is more catered towards video and artsy type things. it has much more capabilities. The macbook would probably be suitable for what you need. Get at least 2gb ram and at least 200gb hard drive. then an external. hope that helps. really depends on what level editor/filmer you are and what your specific needs are. if imovie is what you are using then macbook would suffice

i have just a normal macbook(160gig hard drive, 2.4 ghz, 4 gigs or ram) and i can run cs4 and fcp perfectly

How is FCP, supposedly you cant run it with a integrated graphics card. I only have FCE on mine runs ok but havnt really used it too much, need to get upgrade to atleast 2gb me thinks.

it depends if it comes to HD-Movies , im using a macbookpro (500gb hd , and 3gb ram ) and an external with one tb .if it comes to hd-movies cutting with premiere pro cs4 anf fcp it gets gnarly to the limit . if you want to cut hd-material real time then you should definitely get a macpro system ;)

but its enough for some short edits definitely , and by the way perfect for normal non hd material.

My macbook pro, over 2 years old, second gen 2.33ghz and 3gb of ram has been treating me great for making HD edits and im sure it would be suffice me for anything else i really need. I run FCP6 and it works great with my hvx footy.

hah I got a 2007 MacBook Pro 2.4 ghtz and 4 gig or ram and I run final cut pro on it and its dope. You can crank out pro looking movies in no time.
