Elizabeth or Hellbent?

I am looking for a ski that will be good in the trees. I am going to school in VT next year and these will be for pow days and be used mostly in the trees and some fooling around in the park on those pow days, and probably a day or two on a normal park day for the hell of it.  I was looking at the Elizabeth and the Hellbent in a 169 and I can get them for the same price.  I am 5'11" 150ish if that helps any. Thanks for any help.

very, very different skis. lizzys are NOT a pow ski. yes they are 110 under foot, but they have very low tips/tails so they dont float well. they are stiffer then bents to so not as playful. bents are a much better choice. will be over all a better pow/tree ski, and they are very fun in the park as long as your not getting to tech on rails or doing bit spins. if you want a more traditional ski that is short, bacons are coming in a 172 next year

Thanks for the info.  I didn't even realize that the tip/tail on the lizzie was so low, 45/45. My chronics have higher tips and tails at 52/52 and they are even low. I guess you made my choice. thanks man, and even though the lizzie isn't a pow ski, the width would probably make it float a little more than my chronics.

O yea, does anyone know the turning radius on the hellbents, just for reference?

I would 100% go with the hellbent skis.

They are a good bendy ski that's good for the powder.

Also they are a good rocker ski......

Thanks for the help guys. I just read another review off google and the guy said his friend had elizabeths and they float like nothing compared to the hellbents and everything else he said about them sounded good to me.  I am just caught between sizes, I don't know if i want 169 or 179, because my 181 chronics are long in the trees but I don't know if the rocker is going to make the skis more nimble or what, but I have flown down trees on my chronics and had to slide down sideways going real fast and the skis hit the trees on teh sides because they were so long, causing me to fall. So if anyone can help me with size, that would be great.  Oh and the one thing that I have seen alot is taht the Hellbents don't like crud, but niether did my invaders and i used to bomb down and bounce all over the place so I think I can handle alittle work.

If you want something to handle crud really well, try JJs, Bacons, or Seths. I'd strongly suggest one of these three, they are more versatile than Hellbents

But if you are hell bent on Hellbents (lol), you should go with a 179, they measure to be a little longer, but ski pretty short due to the big rocker.

i think it's like 20 something but that's for carving, on edge they like to make huge swoopy turns but you can make them turn tight when you whip them around
you might want to look into jj's or something for the east, i've found that on ec pow days you get pow for the first few hours and then it turns into crud which SUCKS on hellbents

Another question, does anyone know if the look/rossi 120 brake will fit over these, or will it be tight and need a bit of bending? I am recycling my px 12 ti's off my invaders for these

Haha. I'm from CT, what you guys call crud is like a rare pow day down here lol.  I have skied true crud from 175 straight skis to invaders. I have never regretted buying a ski, and I don't think i'll regret buying hellbents, even if they are'nt used in their "proper" conditions.

But why not buy a ski that excells in crud and pow? In VT you could find both, depending on where you are

i'm just saying, hellbents won't be good in crud, they're a lot of work just to keep your tips from crossing let alone be able to do gs turns through it
jj's will be great in trees, good on groomers, great in crud, and great in pow
the only thing you sacrifice is the playful park aspect of the hellbents. but you'll be happier on the jj's for a CT "pow" day as opposed to hellbents, even up here in vt it's great for the first 2 hrs but then you're getting tossed around on big floppy skis

you have a regular park ski too, right?
just lock those up at the bottom, and when you want a lap, bam bam click.

Ok this thread hos gone from me wanting a fat tree/pow ski to recommendations of a good all around/good in the crud ski.  I can't get JJ's or Bacons for the same price as i can Hellbents or Elizabeths. Those are my two options, I thank you guys for the info on the other skis, and I would look into them if I could get them for the same price.  I jsut want to knwo if 179's will be too long for those narrow trees, because I know you east coast guys ahve been through some of teh stuff at Jay and Stowe, and it is not wide open trees. Thanks though.
