Concordia - Places to live

I got accepted in Concordia, and will most likely accept my offer of admission. Before you go ahead bashing the school etc, and telling me about the jews and palestines, can someone give me some legit answers on places to live other then res.

So if you know anything about the school, they don't have guarunteed residence for first years, and coming from Toronto, I'm really hoping on securing on of those spots, but if not, I'm going to need options as to good places to live in the downtown area, close to the campus.

Any help is appreciated, and +karma for those who do.

I go to Concordia University currently however I live on the West Island. Anyways, concerning places to live I'm not reallty sure what you're looking for. You're best bet if you can't find rez is to find some roomates looking to rent out a room or something along those lines. Also, don't limit yourself to around the campus. I would say anywhere around a metro station or bus stop is fair game as there are stops pretty much inside the university or just outside its front doors. If your looking for places downtownt they wont come cheap, I live in NDG near the Concordia Loyola campus and theres a shuttle can takes you downtown if your a student and it takes 10-15mins. NDG(notre dames de grace) isnt a very expensive area to live in and its extremely easy to hop on a bus and get to where you have to. How much money you looking at spending on a place per month? That would give me a better idea as to what area would be good for.

I've applied at the Grey Nuns residence, which I'd probably be looking at $550-600 a month, so if I were to live outside of campus housing, I'd probably be able to afford paying that amount with roommates also pitching.

for 600 a month you could definetly rent a room from some peeps like right downtown, and obviously downtown is where it is at

yeahh staying in ndg is dece. theres many busses that bring you to the metro and yeah theres the shuttle.

concordia is a great school :P and as for living near downtown, it works out quite well. there's a lot of buses too from ndg that go around guy concordia street.

a good place too check out apartments online is http://montreal.kijiji.ca/

downtown places can range from relatively moderate to 700$ a month for a 2 1/2 with nothing included. and near atwater a lot of the apartments are scummy anyways. but yeah, def. use that site for good appartments, i've seen a lot of 3 1/2 that look qutie swanky for 500-600 a month everything included, even on the plateau occasionally (popular but usually expensive downtown area).

I don't have to worry about finding a place to live anymore, I got into residence downtown:)
