Good places to camp around conway/jackson area (NH)?

me and some friends wanted to camp at the base of tuckermans (not in one of the cabins- thats not as fun) but it is apparently not allowed (unless i am wrong, in which case, please let me know!). what are some other places we can go around there that are scenic/cool places to camp?

white lake state park,  in tamworth 30ish minutes from conway, the rangers are chill as long as your quite, get the border sites in area 3.

but as i dought its open yet, just park on the road near it ank hike

for clarification, we dont really care weather or not its an actual campsite. just looking for cool, and preferably safe, places to go for a night or 2. we just dont want to go to a place with 8 families and their kids all sitting around picnic tables that are 60 feet off the road in the woods, if you know what i mean...

and we will be doing it during the summer

hey there are also a bunch of places below cathedral ledge. I think some of them may be crowded in the summer, but you can always just squat somewhere in the woods. I have been going to Conway for my entire life to ski in the winter and hang out in the summer. There are a ton of sick cliff/bridge/ropeswing areas on the river that you should def hit. Also, on the Kancamagus highway, on the way to loon from conway, there are a bunch of sick swimming holes.

^yea we have a house about 5 min from cathedral ledge. i am also up there a ton. i hear good things about off the kank but have never checked out camping there myself.

dude, I ski at cranmore a lot. I've probably seen you there. I saw one of your pics on the cranny website from last years cranarchy. I think I used it on a web design project ahha

i would personally sleep in my whip if i was camping of the kang, but the granite rocks in the river and shit is sooooo much fun, just hit it up on a warm day.

ill be a new england boy for lyfe primarily because of NH. i have spent more time in those woods and feel more at home and at peace and total serenity in those woods than anywhere else on the planet.

10 karma man, I am the exact same way. I go to school in VT, but because of my childhood and the memories I've had skiing, hiking mt washington, going to swimming holes, and living on the saco river, I am always longing to be back there. I may live in North Conway when I'm older, but NH is one of my favorite places on earth, besides coastal Maine. I try to go to NH every few weekends from VT.. nothing compares.

i lived in one of the most beautiful places on earth, bend OR, and i still dreamed about NH at night.
