its fun to watch the difference between jossi ' and wallisch' sw cork 5s with japan. Wallisch afterbanging it so hard while jossi is trying to keep as low as possible. its fun! and both looks super steezy!

a little update from JOSS everyone... Super bad weather today here in Åre. Snow and fog in the morning and then it cleared up in the afternoon but the wind is hurricane-like. So no skiing today, but the infamous rocker party is going down tonight and we're working on a live broadcast of the air guitar contest that will be going down at the party. So stay tuned!

why don't they make the landing on the hips steeper to prevent the athletes from breaking their knees? more like a quarterpipe-ish landing? just sucks to see them in pain every time they land..

Its the fact that the weather has turned the landings into ice combined with a jump bigger than most NSers have ever hit, let alone seen in their lives). Think about what you said and lets use a little common sense here... If the hip landings are already ice and you shape them up even steeper, how do you plan on staying on your feet and not washing out on the landing? One blog shows Jon washing out for the first 5 or so attempts and he is the one with tuned edges. (If you watch a blog from Trysil, Jon shows how many of the riders have little to no edge on their skis making ice a little tricky). Plus the landing is at approximately the same angle as the take off which is something that you want. ((There was a thread a few weeks ago on jump building with a full freeskier write up that included the physics and geometry brought into play with jump building... check it out as it is worth the read). Jon has become a world renowned jump builder so I think he knows what he is doing. Hopefully the weather plays out for the best and we will get to see some sweet shots from each feature.

to me it looks like he washes out because he slams, all the way into the backseat, and not because he cant hold edge. if they come down straighter on a steeper landing,they wont really need the edges? or am i just babbling.. i completely understand that it is hard, i just think it looks to flat to lands smoothly even when slushy.. all respect to jons shaping skills, not doubting them, just wanted to express some concern for the riders, and maybe that one jump..
