Ok so Bono has this image of himself being a huge philanthropist and doing so much good for the world.

All the while, U2 is touring with a huge stage, with a giant 360 degree television and massive stereo (actually it's 4 stereos) with a combination of 72 subs to put it into perspective.

How does one transport this much equipment? 120 tractor trailers of course!

So one man can claim to help millions giving money to AIDS research also feels obliged to use as much gasoline traveling city-to-city as one normal human will use in a lifetime?

Bullshit. Fuck Bono the energy crisis is upon us and he is sucking up gasoline like fucking media attention for his stupid RED campaign

how does that stuff take up 120 trucks? my math doesnt add up.
think about it this way: he makes money on tour using all that ish and donates a lot of his earnings to charity. sounds alright to me

i wouldnt mind him if he didnt push the fact that hes giving money away so much. if youre doing it out of the goodness of your heart, then you wouldnt need people to know he just forces it way too much

hah reminds me of how when we went over the armenian genocide in WWI for history class, my teacher kept going on and on about how angelina jolie and tons of celebrities are such great people for doing so much for the people of darfur in genocide. i dont get how some people actually think that celebrities donate money to good causes with the intention of actually making a difference. not to mention that my history teacher talks and looks like sarah palin which just pisses me off anyways. and bono is always #2

Even if he donates money he makes to a good cause, how could a 'good' person willingly participate in  such a vulgar misuse of our fossil fuels?

There are plenty of bands touring with far less equipment that produce much better music

The gayest part of U2 is the fact that they have a member who calls himself THE EDGE!!!!!!! He could be a posterboy for Gillette. That is just hilarious.

America fucked itself over, and the rest of the world. i see no problem with him helping out with finding cures for diseases. i also doubt he's boasting about helping, i think he talks about it as a way to spread awareness. i don't think the fact that Bono talks about how much he helps people changes the fact that those people need his help.

but hey, maybe he is just a pompous ass who should not only give money to help Africans without telling anybody about it, but also cut down on his production value so that he can no longer afford to spend all that money on people who need it. while he's at it we can all buy new televisions to watch more celebrity gossip, so that we'll have something to talk about in the midst of our complaining about the current state of the economy and how it's everyon else's fault.

I agree. People come to see U2 because they put on a crazy good show. And 120 tractor trailers is just bullshit.

And even if this was all true, U2 is an incredibly talented band even if you don't like their music.
