Binding question for ar6

Mark on the boot.  Midsole mark.  Just look for a little line on the bottom of your boot.  That's how it is with my Agents at least.

i think thall and wester both had theirs at -1.5? I think thats right

i mounted my 09's at true center (measured it out), and mounted there. love them..

theyre fucking bombproof too if you were ever wondering, not a single base repair this season and ive thrashed them pretty hard over 60 days of riding.

really, i thought i had read suggested was -5....i'm obviously no t.hall so i'm not sure if i wanna base my mount on someone with his skills....and i want to be able to take these babies 50 all mtn / 50 park on east coast hills, thanks for the help

i don't really think there's an optimum mounting if you are gonna switch it up between all mountain and park, obviously the farther back setting is more suited for all mountain and the closer to center line for park.  the lines on my scratch BCs are marked 'standard' = all mountain, and 'modern' = park.  you're gonna have to make a decision based on the type of skiing you're gonna do, if you're undecided just go in between the lines.  i started off skiing in the standard setting but after i got into park more i had them re-mounted to modern,

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought all skis had an optimum mounting point for flex, etc.....i swore someone told me this about the ar6's but i might be mistaken

The optimal mounting for a regular skier would be -5 cm.  That means that if my dad bought those skis he would mount at -5.  He would ski backwards a couple times a year just to show off to the bitches, but usually he is just carvin up some fat groomers.    -2.5 is more center for someone who wants to ski park.  It is exactly an inch from the middle of the ski. 

The binding does not line up with those marks.  There is a line under your foot marking the center of the boot, and that lines up with the line on the ski. 

Where you want to mount is up to you.  Are you going to ski backwards a lot?  do rails a lot?  do the jumps and stunt ditches?  You need to think about how you are going to ski the ski before you mount the ski.

i figure i'll be 50/50 park / all mountain so that i get down the hill with my wife every once in a while, i plan on mostly hitting rails and maybe a jump or two as i get more comfortable.i'm just getting back into skiing so i supposed i'll be riding switch down the line but i can image that much... i just picked up some salomon spks yesterday on the cheap and can't wait to get these on the hill for some shredding.

Man, I had the same problem as you. I didn't really know where to mount my bindings, so I sent a mail to Armadaskis.com and I got a answer from Tyson Hall.
Remember: It is really a personal thing. Some like i in the true center and others like it -2.5. But here is what Armada recommend if you ride 40/60 all-mountain/park.

Thanks for dropping us an email.  If you are mostly skiing in the park I would recommend mounting those at -1.5 to -2.5 cm back of center.  Most of our athletes that use the AR6 for park skiing will not center mount their skis.  Both Tanner and Jacob mount their 6’s at -1.5cm.  At this point you will be close enough to the center to control your switch skiing and landings, but you won’t be true center making it easier to ski on groomers and hard pack.
