Preserving the bottom of Boots

So i have the Dalbello Kryptons and i was wondering if there is anyother alternatives to preserving the plastic toe piece besides the bulky Cattracks. can boot fitters shave the toe down then drill in a plate of rubber??

CatTracks aren't that bulky man..

Unfortauntely there isn't much a bootfitter can do (or would bother to do)

i had metal caps screwed into the front of my head mojos, cos you cant replace the toe caps on them. im sure your ski shop can do the same. it was awesome, sounded like fred astair and my boots didnt wear away.

get some risers on ur boots and when ever they wear out u can take them off and put some new ones on

Go on TGR, and search for a the vibramizing salomon guns thread. There's a bunch of people that ground down the soles of their boots, bought some vibram soles, and attached them.

Im doing that to my boots new year!

Besides lifting you feet when you walk, or getting cat tracks, the only other option would be to have you boots soles ground and replaned. It will be costly, probably at least 150 bones. Idk if its worth it to you.

Also on rampages, you can replace thouse little plastic/rubber black tings on the toes and heels. If that is all that is worn, its an easy fix.

i would go with the snowlerblades... finally a good use for them! my last pair of boots got so ground down on the heels and toes that they would no longer fit into bindings without moving side to side. the rockered sole did make them super easy to walk in though.

also had this happen with my dalbello's couldnt sell them they were so rockered, was quite pissed about it, i would definitely reccomend the snowblade preservation method, maybe thats wut they were made for?

That is tha only downfall of Dalbellos. Tha SPK has riser plates that you can replace an dalbellos don't.

Lange makes a  cool new vibrum lug that works with alpine bindings. Your shop should be able to order them for you.
I know that this year every one in our shop put them on most of their boots (except race boots) weather they were langs or not. They just ground down the current lug, drilled some holes and attached them. The rubber still wears down a bit, but not near as much as most boots I have seen.

I've used cattracks for 3 years now after I almost destroyed my langes in a week and a half from walking around whistler in them. The boots still survive and perform incredibly well to this day!

Get over it, they're not bulky.
