Buying Boots

I'm looking to buy some new boots and ive looked around and first impression was GET FULL TILTS, but my foot is really quite wide and i have decent sized calfs so they seemed too small a fit for me. Im thinking the salomon spks are the best option but i live in Australia so i dnt have alot of choice in suppliers. Just wondering if buying boots over the internet is a good idea if im not sure about the right sizing? Should i go into any salomon dealer and try on any salomon boot for a proper fit? Will all Salomon boots size the same? And does any1 have any personal experience buying right fitting boots online. thanks guys.

Your best bet would be to go to a bootfitter near you and have them tell you what works, after you tell them your abillity and what you want to ski.

Very difficult to buy boots online without knowing which boot fits your foot properly

I wouldn't recommend it.
Boots are definitely cheaper if you buy them online, but US exchange rate has smashed Australians looking to bring stuff over, plus the fuel costs in the last year have caused many shipping companies to pass on the increased costs.

Bottom line, save your cash and buy from a physical retailer in oz.
Should be able to find some good sales at the moment as well.

As for Salomon - well yeah the SPK is a wide fitting boot compared to some others, but not all Salomons fit the same at all

Pretty much every boot company these days (with the exception of a few) will make wide and narrow fitting boots, so it's important to spend some time with a good boot fitter and get the right boot for your foot.
It's the most important piece of equipment you will buy, they will last you the longest and if they don't fit you will be mighty pissed off.

But, yeah - SPKs are a wide fitting boot.

I have a wide foot and big legs also from cross country and soccer, I ordered my spk's online and they were tight at first like all boots tho i gave them alittle time to break in and they fit really well now.

Go to a shop. its the only way to get it right. 

everyones foot is different.
