Got new skis. For the companies sake lets call them Osama Pros
Got new bindings, for humors and the companies sake, lets call them the Line Reactor
So stoked, anyways. I got the skis at one shop and the bindings at the shop across the street. I was pumped. I got them mounted at the shop across the street where I bought the bindings.
The guy mounting them was super chill and looked like he was stoked to be doing something rather than sitting around, so he was more than happy to mount them for me. He was unsure of how to mount the "line reactors" but said he had done it before and it should'nt take long. I always like watching how techs work so I can start mounting and repairing my own shit. After he put the heel piece plate on the ski, he got me to fill out the work order but got me to fill it out in the front shop. So blah blah I filled it out, went back to the back shop and he had taken the plate off and put glue back in the screw holes and as I was walking in he re mounted the plate and then the heel piece. After the ski was mounted he adjusted my dins accordingly and set forward pressure all that shit y'all know about.
I skied a day on them (SICK)
I waited three days to ski on them (SICK) until my heel piece blew off on an under rotated 5. Took the ski to the techs at the hilll and asked if they could put a heli coil in the screw hole and re mount the heel piece. The techs at the hill showed me that the ski had been drilled twice in two different locations, aka. the tech who mounted the skis made an error and didn't tell me about it. To make matters worse, he never plugged the holes in the first place, making the guts of the ski susceptible to water damage and overall wear of the ski.
My question is: Has this happened to you? What happened after? Should I have to pay the other shop to get new skis? Will the skis warranty cover what the tech did and get me a new ski. Should the tech's shop fully re-imburse me for the skis and the binding?
Thanks brewhahs, hopefully some of y'all slagged through this chaotic mess.
