Spins with Grabs

any one got any advide on spinning and grab? im havin a little trouble with it, like whats the easiest grab to spin with do you think? cuz mutes and spins arent the easiest to learn

well the spin is totally changed with a grab, so you have to make it work with it. start with a safety, it's probably the easiest. you really just have to bring your skis up as you throw the spin, you can sorta throw your ski up into your hand if you know what i mean, and hold on and stay steady.
but don't just try to spin then spontaneously reach for your ski, you'll probably land on your side

ok, i used to have alot of trouble with those too. what worked for me was just setting your spin and then once you're in the air and spinning fine, just reach down and do whatever grab you feel like doing. you just have to remember to take-off pretty much the same as you would for just a straight spin. dont be intimidated just because you're adding a grab to it, its pretty similar to a straight spin, just remember to grab.

i have trouble with that too. I can grab in 180's but I havent tried in a bigger spin. I'll have to work on that.

just work on making the spin smooth without a grab then once ur like butta start to add a safety..then maybe a mute....then like an inside critical or tail. dont jump to grabs to quick with otu getting smooth thats what I did and my spins got all messed up and choppy...I berly ever grab now

I'm a whole lot more comfortable grabbing than not grabbing. A safety stabilises me a lot in the air and makes it feel smoother. I've tried a few Tanner-style no-grabs and I couldn't do it - I was falpping all over the place. Weird.

I love doing like steezed out threes w/ no grab, like tanner does. They feel so great and they're smoother to me

Just tuck your knees to your chest when you spin. Once you do that well, just grab one ski, or safety, and just build it up. Gotta be able to pull in your knees though...makes it a lot easier.

just pop more off the jump. Otherwise you get too much forward motion and its harder to grab. If you jump up more, you get a floatier feeling and its easier to grab.
