I had a thought the other day about why i prefer watching park skiing to powder skiing and i just curious if anybody else agrees with me on this
first, powder is amazing to ski, dont get me wrong. and watching backcountry skiing like thalls massive and hunting yeti and that sorta stuff is fuckin sweet as hell but it makes me want to go ski that stuff so bad, but then i realize that I cant. I dont have access to snomobiles or a cat or endless lines of pillows and pow, and so then i kinda just feel like im watching somebody that i cant relate to. big mountain is even worse. watching sage rip down ak mountains is insane, but i know that i will never be there doing that, so it just kinda seems unreal and non-personal.
but when i watch park skiing, i see what these kids do and think about how i could do that. all i need is some rails and jumps, which most mountains have. i can relate to park skiers because i can actually go out there and attempt that stuff, and it makes watching it much more enjoyable.
maybe this is just me, but i was just thinking about the differences between watching pow and park skiing.
call me a loser or whatnot its just my thoughts. any1 care to share theirs?
