The x-wave series from salomon hasnt been made in at least 2 seasons now, maybe more. The 8 refers to its flex, and 80 or so on salomons chart. Not exactly a freeride boot, but it will work.
I have them. I weigh about 125 pounds and I like them. I ski some park and a lot of all mountain and they are great for charging through crud and stuff. I had a bit of a shinbang problem but that could be because they might be a tad big for me.
I have had the wave 7s they work fine. Mine are all blown out now because I have had them for 3 years but yeah, they won't be to special but they work.
what would be an ideal boot for me (150lb, 6'1) fairly aggressive, ski everything at whistler and ski on hellbents with marker jesters and seth vicious with head mojo 15's
Go to a boot fitter an dget properly sized for a boot. There are mannny different boots that you can look at depending on your budget, your foot shape and the flex of the boot.
