Are my grades bad?

I feel like they suck and my parents are on my ass all the time but if i got my bio grade up would they be that bad?

They would be about average if you got your Bio grade up. But ya, that Bio grade is bad and the C's aren't that great.

since you're at least doing good at SOME classes they're not that bad. You obviously only have like 2 classes you need to work on, so work on them. They're not anything some handwork couldn't fix.

i am a sophmore in high school by the way, I really want to go to the U of Utah, i got predicted to get a 26 on my ACT so i am hoping to have a shot there

Well thats around a 2.75 GPA so for most colleges, especially nowdays, it would be quite helpful to get em up. That D is killin ya, if you can make that a C  it will get ya to just under a 3.0 and if ya get latin up to a B you'll be around 3.1 or so.... I'd at least shoot for that. Just work hard and you'll get it, plus it should be a little easier now with ski season winding down...

School is fucking simple. Do the work right; get A's. It's not too hard. Seriously, I don't know why kids don't fucking get it. If you really look into how "hard" school is, and how much you actually do, it's fucking pitiful.

Just do the work well. That's all there is to it. Oh, and I would suggest taking AP or IB. Honors classes are not considered "above and beyond" by most good colleges.

dude don't even worry about it. those grades are enough to get you into the u of u. i got in with a 2.77 without a problem. i also got into ou, cinci, toledo and akron all for engineering. it's all about ur act, and maybe some essays.

i do 30 minutes of hw a night....... and im a junior... school is easy as shit.
i did no fucking hw last year and got all B's. just pay attention in school and do work during school in between classes while you are in it and then you can get everything done.... all it takes is for u to seriously just man the fuck up and do hw one night and realize how fucking easy it is and its worth it.

to the thread creator, keep workin on that bio grade. d's on transcripts are bad news. but yea latin is a tough class i slaved thru that one. It's well worthit tho for other languages.

im a sophomore:

Math (11th grade enriched? i dont know the name, i guess its a lot of trig): 3.5
Chem: 3.5
English: 3.0
Euro Civ: 3.0/3.5
Spanish: 3.0/3.5

i hardly do any homework and i hardly study. my parents dont understand it. I'm also probably going to get a couple 4.0s this quarter.
last year i really fucked up though. i had great grades and i just stopped trying all together and really fucked up, i went from a steady 3.5 in math to a 1.5 4th quarter. i stopped doing the math hw because it wasnt being checked and i just didnt get the practice i needed and got owned (geometry proofs are my worst nightmare)

btw
4.0=95=100
3.5=90-94
3.0=85-89
2.5=80-84
2.0=75-79

and so on.

just do you work. Bio is so easy, and latin, well i hate foreign language but i get by. i usually study like 10 minutes before class and own the tests and quizes for the most part

Cool story Hansel. yea It may have been just my highschool but when you took AP classes you would never ever drop below a B (most who did just dropped the class). Teachers didn't let it happen and would make it easier. But otherwise AP Chem was the hardest class i took in highschool so an A- is rediculous.  Also you are lying if you say you only do 30min of hw a night, unless you never get hw, or have like 3 hour breaks in between class. It would take me 30mins alone to just copy my friends AP chem HW.

first of all ANY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS INCLUDING AP IS A JOKE. if you get a B+ in calc AB your retarded. the only B i ever got was in AP Spanish 5 and i did not work at all. i am embarraesed to say that

definately! you dont actually have to understand any of the material (although it helps cause then you can apply the information...) but for the tests its all just memorization. i used a lot of highliters and diagrams to help me through bio 12....labelling diagrams is usually worth a lot of marks on tests. plus if you make sure you do well on the assignments then there isn't as much pressure to do really well on tests
