Salomon Online Jib Academy Round 3 Winner

Congrats to Emile Bergeron for taking home first place in round 3 of the Salomon Online JIb Academy! As you guys already know, the top 5 highest rated videos moved onto the finals, where the Salomon staff and athletes pick their favorite who will be Mammoth-bound for the Jib Academy finals in May!

Round 4 is now open, so get your videos up! Congrats to Emile and thanks to everyone who's been entering. This contest is awesome!

 the way this event is being judged.I'm not going to lie, I,m dissapointed that the salomon team voted Alex out of this contest for the last 2 rounds.

He scored higher then everyone else from the public eyes and I'll have to say that his skills and his smoothness isnt matched by many of the pros out there.

Sure he ski on armada and is listed as a team member on their webpage but I know he dosnt get anything that should disqualify him from this contest.

I doubt he'll submit another vid to this contest because he's probably uber dissapointed.

I've skied with the kid alot this year and let me tell you, going to mammoth for the jib academy and have the chance to hit big stuff with the top of the salomon team have been his main goal for this year. He was so sad that he broke his collarbone last year (during jib academy finals)  in T-Wall style after stomping his first fakie 1080 on a decent jump and catching an edge reverting after he rode out of it.

I,m not gonna call you guyz assholes like some of the kids would but damn, I have trouble understanding the way this online contest his being judged.

Ced, for what my opinion is worth.  I really don't think Salomon is looking for who has the best edit with the best tricks, read the rules. For example

"There is no set list of criteria just show us your best side (Remember it is all about having fun!) "



............ and because he is bummed and won't enter another because he didn't win....  well, that seems totally contrary to what the whole Jib Academy is about.  IMO !!! 

The Jib Academies are where the hometown kid wins, not the skier with best corked out switch up-side down flippy spinny thing, or the best person who can slide on the longest rails with the most dance steps.

You are stoked for your friend and since he is just that good, find a way to get him to some large comps, there is a dozen or so quebec people down here at Mt Snow for example...

Alex is the home hill hero at the same hill where Phil Casabon grew up skiing.

He's been on the podium in pretty much every event he entered this year but I know for a fact that going to Mammoth would mean a lot more for him then winning any of these Qc comps.


The kid edit was shot in 2 dayz because he spend most of his dayz out there skiing for himself with his brother who is another sick skier. I dont think he ever took the time to film more stuff  since he entered his first edit for this contest.

That being said he's gonna try making a little edit from his home mountain for round 5 or something.

Yeah Alex is killing it but anyways let's face it he's gonna take it this week-end in tremblant, that might be why they didn't put him in yet, at least it makes sens to me.
