I am interested in applying for the engineering schools and i was wondering if anybody went there, so that they could tell me work load and how selective they are for admission.

csu is close to steamboat (relatively) close to good backcounty up the poudre river..fucking sick for spring and summer sports..It's two hours to summit county but the drive feels like nothing..I go up two or three times a week since I have an uncle in frisco..have not gone to steamboat since its not on my pass but i plan on it. CU kids give CSU a lot of shit, but its actually a decent location for skiing besides the fact that it doesnt snow for shit..Also the ski program licks balls

is boulder closer, even though people say that Boulder is not a good ski school? how is I-70?

It is around 40minutes closer to the main summit county ski areas..boulder is definitely a better school for skiing, but the whole boulder experience is just over the top and fucked in my opinion. tip for I-70 is being on there by 6:30 or traffic will more than likely fuck you. Also on a day like sunday either leave by 2 or leave at 6..Avoid being on the road at 4..the tunnel is backed up for atleast an hour..all depends though

I'm a computer engineer at CSU currently.  I had a 3.5 cumulative and got like a 25 on my ACT and I was easily accepted.  Work load isn't too bad.  If your good at math then engineering is right for you.  Calculus is ridiculous and super hard.  But if your an engineer you get to stay in CSU's really nice dorms.  They are like 5 star compared to other dorms.  Go check out the enineering dorms at CSU, they're ballin.  Its what i'm in right now.  Check it out

I'm at CU's engineering school. 3.8 gpa, 28 on ACT, colorado resident. yes, it is a ton of work...class every day of the week. I only have time to go skiing on weekends. The drive from boulder is way shorter then ft collins. CU's engineering programs are high class. Especially aerospace.

I go to cu and am in engineering,  the school I don't think is too hard to get into but I had decent scores. But depending on classes it could be a lotof work but manageable. CU really isn't a ski school, it is a far from skiing and I 70 can be really slow sometimes. But a lot of people go to the mountain so it isn't a problem to find a ride. Boulder is way dope and there is a lot going on and since skiing is so far away you can do plenty besides skiing.  If you really want a ski school go to western state in gunnison or colorado mountain college or u of u which has an alright engineering program.

I know CU engineering school is ridiculous. Like the kids in the program are rarely seen cause they have soo much work all the time. I dont really know any so I cant say exactly what its like but Its definitely a top program here.

boulder is a trade off, relativity better academics than most "ski schools" but you add an extra hour to your drive. Its really not that bad, I have over 60 days this season and, before midterms, was getting up 3-4 times a week. If you are serious about engineering you might want to check out MSU as well, i've heard they have a pretty decent program.

im a cu student and i started in engineering but after a year i decided it wasnt for me. engineering is definately alot of work, i don't have anything to compare cu's engineering program too but for me i realized that i didn't care enough about the subject to constitute doing the rediculous amounts of work. I'm pretty smart so its not like the program was too hard that i couldnt do it, it was more like i just realized i didn't want to. now im in international affairs which is a pretty legit major so i don't feel like i took a huge step down but the work load is so much more manageable and it allows me more free time. props to you if you have the tenacity and drive to do engineering but make sure its really what you want to do. i wasted a year on really hard classes and now 80% don't mean anything for my degree. so yea thats whats up

from my engineering department tour at CU "unless you want to do aerospace and work for nasa, go to CSU for engineering"

i go to csu im not an engineering major but i did look at the program and it is probably one of the most if not the most intense program at the school.  your looking at 32+  creds a year of mostly math and science classes.

one of my really good friends goes there and is in engineering. he graduated from high school with honors. Idk if that means anything to you. i know its hard but he makes it work. you gotta work hard and play hard.

I had fun there and no problem getting chicks. Not saying ASU wouldn't be more fun but after see all the douche bags on spring break I am happy I went to mines with kids who are not trying to prove something and be tough guys.

this year was actually a new record for the incoming class: 29% female.

it is alot of hard work, but me and most of my friends here like it. there are wayyy too many nerds and shit like that, but there are some quality ladies here, thats for sure. you can't get a whole lot better than smart hot skiier chicks who blaze too. and if you think about it, all the kids who just sit in the dorms and play video games dont even talk to girls, so that evens up the ratio some

the biggest draw is the future.. after four years of this shit, life should be good

Mines actually has a larger percentage of girls than the engineering school average. The freshman class has some pretty good looking girls actually. But engineering girls are crazy as shit in my experience. Then again isn't every girl.

but the problem with mines is that it is an engineering college only. CU and CSU are universities with many different colleges so you get a more diverse population including attractive girls (unfortunately a lot are dumb bitches). I think i would go insane if i only hung out with engineers, thats why i chose cu's engineering school. also, i think cu's engineering school is just as good as mines academically.

no offense but only CU's engineers think that CU's program is as good as mines. (gotta get my jabs in). Your exactly right though I get really fucking pissed at all the lame kids at mines but for the most part they are good people and not dick heads. I was in boulder last night though and there are definitely a lot of hot chicks there.

hahaha its so funny how you say this. I grew up right across the street from Fairfield U and went to high school on the same campus. I dont think FU is known for having amazingly hot girls but you dont have to look hard to find any. Coming from that I feel like you almost have to search out the hot girls here at Boulder.
