Replying to Roommate experiences? heading out to Utah..

Soooo I'm headed out to the U next year for school, and I had never actually worried about a roommate until recently. Numerous friends have told me about their awful roommates, and I don't want to get stuck with a bad one. But since i'm going to Utah, I'm hoping I'll find a skier or someone who shares similiar interests.

Anyways, another option I have besides getting matched up with someone random, is that I could room with one of my buddies (who boards) who is also going to the U. Again, I've heard of people getting sick of their friend as a roommate, therefor I'm unsure about going down that path as well.

Anyone have any advice on making a decision? Also, does utah have a roommate match making system/survey type deal like other schools?
