WE have a post a pic of your rail.
Now that the seasons coming to a close lets get a "POST A PIC OF YOUR DROP IN" thread. This will also help with all the repetative threads on drop in plans. I dont have on yet so post away.
okay so it didnt really wok out as planned but i would have to say it looks pretty damn good, here is a look at the drop in and the box and an action shotwill get better pics up soon
It's made out of pine so it's going to rot, but for the time being, it's good! I'm going to finish or paint it and cover it with a tarp whenever we get any weather.
i would suggest putting snow fence all the way down until like halfway through the flat part. You'll get more speed and then when you hit the turf you can hold an edge pretty well. Looks sick though
dude i drew up plans for pretty much the exact same thing the other day! then i saw yours and figured out how to connect the two parts at the top, thanks! the only thing i did differently was the drop in side was a bit longer so the transition will be more mellow, but obviously you need snow too. other than that it is fucking exactly the same, I was gonna put pvc around the wood on the front too.
I made a drop in with rollers. It was lots of work but it is super smooth and gives tons of speed. The rollers were PT 4x4s that I turned on a lathe. Then there is a small metal pipe that a bolt goes through into the roller. They spin really well with this semi bearing.
its 5 feet high. The speed is perfect for the rainbow. You are going pretty damn fast. For a smaller rail u would just need a real long inrun to get rid of some speed.
i know i've posted this before but i added the lateral supports and made a temperary platform to put your skis on.
putting the top 2x4's inbetween the 8 footers made it much sturdier and creates a flatter surface to build a platform on. The lateral supports are held inplace with 1/4in. steel bolts and wing nuts. They are easy to put on and take off
this is my tower so far, i dont have any money to work with so right
now im just using what i can get for free. Pallets were first on the
list so this is what i have for my tower. Thoughts, ideas?ight now it is set up to go drop to flat to that hill to flat again. I was thinking flat rail on the first flat after the drop to landing on the hill, and then a down rail somewhere near it.
