My 'rents are forcing me to go down to Toronto (4.5 hours away from Ottawa) to attend a weekend long 'convention' in which single and desperate Indian people come from all over North America to 'mingle.'
The idea (if you haven't already figured it out) is that I will meet a girl (and I guess fall in love with her on the spot), hold a long distance relationship with her, and then marry her.
As much as I love wearing suits, I think I'm going to wear my wide leg jeans (all my jeans are wide leg), and a bright blue hawaian shirt.

That sounds harsh. Personally, I wouldnt stand for that, I mean they are essentially forcing you on someone. That sucks, but I understand there are different cultures and different customs. If you really feel that its unjust you can rebel (pun...intended), by either refusing to go or acting like a total jackass at the convention.

My parents aren't actually forcing me to meet anyone, they just want me to go and keep an open mind. I just think it's a dumb idea, and a waste of a weekend.

are they going with you ? if not, go to the convenvention for a day, pick up some pamphlets and shit, then go skiing or something. Just leave your skiis at a friends house before you leave. Your skrewed if your parents are goin, but who knows there might be some hot chicks, but long distance shit doesn't usually work out. tell them it's your life, it works now and then.
