ok so heres the story.

tonight i was using my ipod while cooking up a box of annies when i turned it off and turned it back on later the sound was all fucked up coming out of my inkd headphones and so im like ok ill try my icons. as i put them in, the headphone jack bent adn now only one ear works.
i have always read threads about how bad their product is and im like whatever but now i see they arent very good at all.
should i send them in or is it just a waste of time?

from my experience its like a 2 week turnaround time. so borrow some shitty ones so you can still jam while they warranty them. they seem to warranty anything I send at them

i've had two sets up skullcandy's break on me in the last year, but i abuse the hell out of them so i don't really care and i am too lazy to deal with the warranty so i just buy new ones

The audio quality is terrible.  They are nice to ride with though purely for the warranty.  They are cheap, somewhat durable, the sound is bearable, and if you break em on the hill, you get new ones for free.  Cant beat that

The warrarnty thing is legit..........except that it takes those lazy fucks forever to send you back your item.  I sent mine in almost a month ago and havent gotten them back yet  :(

Also, it seems like they break way too easily.

they're warranty is legit. fill out the referal thing on their site and it gives you all the info you need. i sent in my g.i.'s a couple months ago and had no problems at all. the only bad thing is it takes about a month or so to get them back.

I have a question:
Say I received a pair of icons from a friend, but then the other day they broke, I have no clue where or when he got them. Do you think the company would warranty them? or am I just going to need a new pair?

Boom.  Hit the nail on the head there man.  Every single thing I've owned from Skullcandy has broken in some way.  Their quality is garbage and laughable.  But is relatively cheap, compared to a good quality pair of headphones, so they've got that going.

Smith Holt Skullcandy audio hookup:  Switch broke on the button to turn the headphones off almost immediately when I got them.  It turns itself off regularly while I'm skiing, the buttons fucked.  Good thing I don't wear a helmet too often.

Ti 's:  Snapped right through the plastic while trying to remove them from my head while sitting at my computer.  Nothing crazy, I have never skiied with these, not even once.  Only use them at my computer.

Ear buds:  Had wires exposed about a week after I got these custom  made BC.com ones that they gave out to all their employees.  Sweet.  probably can't warranty those for the same pair again.  AWESOME!  Electrical tape fixed this, so I'm not worried.  And they were free, so I don't really care.

Icons:  Just straight up stopped working one day.  Not sure why

I honestly don't care, and haven't warrantied any of these yet.  But, regardless of how ballin their warranty is, THEY SHOULD BE MAKING A QUALITY PRODUCT, especially for the amount of support they get throughout the industry. 

If I have to warranty everything I buy from them, they're clearly doing something wrong.  That's just bad business.

The PRODUCT is bad.  Straight up.  I like the company, which is why I support them.  But they definitely need to work on the quality of their gear.

And their warranty is not a lifetime, unconditional warranty.

Just reread that, and it sounds bad.  The products are not bad, when they work they're great.  The quality is what I have a problem with.  Nothing holds up.

The freq response on them is shit... I bought them for my mom and sister to throw around, and I'll rock them on the slopes, but I'm sticking to my AKG studio headphones for actual listening.

Skullcandy's good when it works, but they break really easily.  The thing is their warranty is bomb.

I just got a free pair of Skullcrushers because of the warranty.

ok guys we get it they arent extremely high quality, get off the kids nuts cause everything else he said was true, their warranty is as good as it gets. all you gotta do is make a claim online and cut the end of the cord/plug off and send that in, it has the sn on it.
