Dude. Sorry to call you out, but I hate it when people shit on Utah with lame reasons. Let me clear a few things up for you.
There are no casinos in Utah. No gambling. And no lottery. It's all illegal here. Bingo Halls and private poker rooms are a little different, there are a few of those, but that's not a casino. And I believe those are run as private establishments (not too sure what the loophole with those are). The closest casinos are in Wendover, NV which is right over the border and roughly an hour and a half away. Read the first line on the link I've provided, shits illegal. Whether you can Google Utah casinos, clearly has no bearing here. You can google anything and get a shitload of results.

Strip clubs exist as well, but do have strange laws regarding what can be shown etc... If they have a liquor licenses, no nipples. Bitches wear pasties. True story. If you want nip, you can't drink. And no full nudity anywhere, only topless. So ya. That's a little strange. But whatever, skiing is what brings people here. If these are things you care about. Don't bother coming to Utah.
As for dating a mormon girl. WTF were you thinking? Of course they'll push their beliefs onto you when you're sitting at the dinner table surrounded by them. I had a good friend convert for 6 months, then realize it was a little nuts and bail on it. We had missionaries over the house on a regular basis last summer (missionaries are the guys in the black suits you referred to), and once I let them know very clearly that I was not interested in their crazy shit, they dropped it and never brought it back up again. Just don't be a pushover and they'll leave ya alone.
And while Utah is not a liberal progressive state, moving here to ski isn't going to get you too involved with any sort of state politics. I've been here for almost 2 years and the states politics have never affected me in any way. Going for a "real" job downtown at a financial institution or something like that is a little different. You would probably cross paths with the politics a lot more there.
And saying Tahoe, Summit County, or Seattle are chiller, is again, not a real argument. That is an opinion. I fucking hate the vibe in Summit County, and the mountains suck compared to what Utah has to offer (insane traffic if you don't live close, pretty expensive to live near, and not nearly as gnarly). But that's my personal opinion.
I think you've got a pretty jaded view of what living in Utah is like man. It's really not nearly as strange as you're making it sound.
Again, please back up these claims you're making when you try to say it's not chill here. I've found it to be very chill and insanely close to some of the most epic skiing in the world. Sorry, but Breck/Keystone do not have epic skiing. Epic parks maybe, but the rest of the terrain cannot even touch what the Wasatch has to offer. It's all about what you're looking for and the type of skiing you're into though, some people love it down there for whatever reason.
Sorry about the rant. I just felt that needed a little more clarity.
