Stratton US Open

Does anyone know if Stratton is going to open the park to the public after the US open?

I am a native to stratton. Ive been skiing up there for the last 10 years of my life and every year after the open goes down, they let the public ski the park afterwards for i think about 2 or 3 weeks before they close it off. I know some years they would let people ski it, but then close it for the year do to someone getting hurt on it. You can also hit the pipe too. the pipe usually lasts a lot longer than the park does once the mountain closes so you can hike it and shred it for much longer.

im also a native to stratton. they open it almost until the mountain closes. the slope is open for about 2 or 3 weeks after the US open is over.

and the pipe really never closes and people hike it after the mountain closes too.


i was over in the Sun Bowl today and saw most of the setup. the pipe was almost done, and under the pipe was a big quarter they still had to shape. the slope was HUGE. it looked sooooo good. they didn't have the rails up but the jumps looked done pretty much.

Hell ya it is.... how many jumps and can u guess about how big they are?

4 jumps and anywhere from 50-65 ft maybe a little more. they were looking perfect.

and usually they have 2 rails and 2 boxes.

Are you sure? I am pretty positive that the US Open is going on tomorrow...

On a side note, all the features really, really nice - hopefully it all holds up.

they have slopestyle finals tomorrow, it says on stratton's website. still don't know if they're going to open it.

the park looked sick. i had to leave thursday, irght before the open and rjd2.

but yeah they open it after its done. have funnn

i was at the open friday and saturday and everything was huge. rjd2 was sick, but i liked the saturday concert better (cant remember the groups name) i was shreddin the other parks over by the main base and those were dope as well. i envy anyone who will be hitting the slope course or halfpipe because everything was perfect. i just wish it was skiers insetead of boarders, but whateva

jumps are in prime condition, they better leave it open.

Thanks to everyone for your support during the 2009 Burton US Open, and your continued patience and cooperation as Sunriser Supertrail will remain closed until later this week so our mountain crews can remove all of the temporary structures put up for the competitors, judges and television crews. Be sure to keep an eye out for the opening of the slopestyle and halfpipe. The Tyrolienne park will also be closed today so the crews can reset and rework everything.
