True center?

this may sound like a dumb question.     but how do i find the true center of my skis.    i kno by measureing!!!! but where do i measure from?   just help me out.

Measure from tip tail and divide that number buy two so for example 171 divided by 2 is 85.5.Im talkin centimeters too.
Also mark a line with a sharpie or tape so the shop knows exatly where to mount the bindings.Or just go in the shop and measure it with them,Thats what I did,hope this helped u out.

i just fuckin asked to make sure because my skis have a live that says 50/50 and according to my measurement its off by 1cm.

idk y people have to be like this to people that are just looking for some help??

um go to the ski companies website, and sometimes it will say where the mounting lines are, like on lineskis.com it tells me the mounting like is 6cm back from true ski center. so 6cm forward of the line is center.

or you could measure the ski, see it with your eyes and then put a line halfway across.

alright i wanted to be sure.    i didnt kno if that was all i have to do or if i had to take into account that it isnt a true twin and the angle of the tail can make the measurement off.   (if you can understand that)

Another really quick way to find it if you are just curious is to hold the ski up in the air just across your 2 pointer fingers and slide them together.  Give it a whirl!

yeah dude just measure out your ski, divide that number by two, and mount your boot center right on that line. you gotta watch out cuz there's a lot of shops that think true center is where core center is marked on the ski and all that stuff. hope this helps. same as what the first guy said.

Just to double-check, especially if measuring by hand, take one ski once you have a line marked and flip it upside-down. Then put the skis together side by side. If your center mark is correct then the two lines will match perfectly with one ski backwards. Not sure if i explained that right but hopefully its understandable...

Never Ever trust the line on the topsheet, it will be off about 90% of the time, either get a hold of a rep, ask the company to e-mail where it should be mounted, distance from the tail is how its measured

Often the line on the topsheet won't perfectly line up with the other ski - measure manually, twice

Mark it with a pen and then the tech can't fuck it up

the one thing that gets me is if the nose and tail are not the same height, if you measure right from the nose and the tail you will be measuring at an angle, therefore giving you a different measurement than if you lay the ski flat, put the nose against like a wall or something, and then put a box or something against the tail, and then measure out center and see if theres any difference from just going nose to tail.
