The ultimate ski size test

Alright so I am 5'8 and I ride 161 salomon threats center mounted.  I am supposed to grow over the summer and I am planning on getting invaders cheap now that it is the end of the season.  I was going to get 171 instead of 178 for sure but then I did some measurements with a measuring tape.  Getting 178 and  adding 17 centimeters to my 161 park ski is only 6.7 inches.  Invaders are center mounted so that is only 3.35 inches more on each side of the ski.  3.35 inches on each side is nothing and the difference between 161 and 178 will not be noticed too much.  Hope this helps others in the same situation.

yeah even for center mounted skis anything under 170 should be way too small for you.. specially if your still growing, so good thing your getting 178's

im 5'8, and im riding 171's. im not disappointed, i could probably go up (although it would jump to a 181) and be fine, but im fine as i am right now

yeah i'm 5'1" and i ride a 169 fujative. i love em so 178 wouldn't hurt at all.

I love how all of you pass judgment on ski length based on how tall a person is and not how aggressive they are or how much they weigh.  My personal opinion....bigger is better.  but its just that....a personal opinion.

yeah thats a good point. if you are an advanced park skiier 178 on a center mount would be a good choice. but if you are begginer to intermediate i'd go for the 171's.
