Replying to Made some progress yesterday, still need some pointers
well after snowboarding for 14 years i returned to skiing this year. i picked up a old crappy pair of k2s to re-learn, but quickly surpassed their ability. upgraded to some rossi scratch ghettos and rode for them for the first time yesterday. hit ragged mountain for the first time and it wasn't that bad. small, but only cost $25, 40 degrees and sunny, 6" of fresh, and no lines. it was my first day on the skis and only my 6th day skiing ever. i feel comfortable on all levels of groomers, but when it gets bumped up i don't have that quick turn ability yet. any input?? the best thing was i was able to land my first safety grab and my first 180. early in the day i tried a 180 and landed it, but quickly learned i had no idea had to ride switch. so after a couple runs learning switch i gave it another try and nailed it twice before close. felt awesome to accomplish something so early. still have a ton of skiing to do before i feel comfortable. the hardest part for me is when the blacks get steep. i have no problem making it down, and i'm not going slow, but also not going fast. still having trouble dealing with the speed. just more skiing i guess. any ideas?? thanks
