Shaun's Secret Halfpipe: Confirmed

There was a thread a while about the rumor that Red Bull is building Shaun White a secret halfpipe on the backside of Silverton. Well consider it confirmed, I just found a picture on the Actionhorse blog.

Apparently it is only accessible by helicopter or sled and it cost about 500,000 dollars to construct. That's all according to Actionhorse but I believe it. Someone who lives in Silverton should poach it ASAP!!!!Click for larger image

Shaun sucks dog hole. Did you see that crappy pipe performance in the X-games?? And he won?!?! Bullshit, he paid off the judges. you dont need a helicopter or sled to get there. its in velocity basin at silverton mountain. you can hike there from the road or just pay to go ski silverton

my homies and i went over there and we got run off my 'copish' guys on snowmobiles...it was gay...we were sooooo fuckin wasted i dont know what they said exactly...we were hiking the back side of silverton mountain (aka velocity basin) and saw the pipe...sadly the competition that was supposed to take place...(red bull crazy train) at that pipe got canceled. gay gay gay.

yup. i was there in february and red bull was flying him around. he got dropped off at the top of the ridge from where the arrow is pointing in that picture and i'm pretty sure he pussied out.

Never was supposed to be a contest.  Word amongst pipe builder dudes was Snowparktech was retained by Redbull on Shawn's behalf to build a private pipe where he could train out of the public eye with air bags/foam pits cut into the wall.  The rumor goes to say he wanted to storm into the US OPEN with a full run of 6 back to back double corked spins that no one has ever scene before and live up to the hype thats been heaped apon him in recent years.  Practice his normal run everyone has scene a hundred times over in the early rounds and then unleash in the finals The pipe was built but the rest never happened.
