Ben. i am not a "comi, homo loving sons a guns"
hahaha
isnt Penn buddy buddy with Chavez? the same Chavez who is actively destroying the freedom of the press in Venezuela?
ill have to download it. im gonna stick it to the man, i dont need some greedy CEO getting my money like they would if i went out an bought the movie. actually, wait...... nevermind.
As far as the thread goes, I loved this movie and I thought Sean Penn was great. I strongly disagree with your assertion that he deserved the oscar though. Mickey Rourke's performance was absolutely legendary and I'm really bummed that he didn't win.
I think everyone is. Who likes self-absorbed, marginally talented, rich, self-righteous, "socially conscious" assholes who think any time the cameras are rolling is an appropriate time to make their views about any and everything public?
We all know the overwhelming majority of people who would even be attracted to that kind of work are almost by default narcissists with messiah complexes, why take time to kick a dead horse though?
i actually have yet to see that one, but i think it would be hard to outdo penns performance. and yes, i understand its easy to be cynical about hollywood. but that doesnt make this movie any less great.
Well, obviously I don't need to tell you that it's silly to form an opinion about something you haven't seen.
And for the record, I didn't go out of my way to mock hollywood...in fact, I was annoyed that skiminnesota did.
Milk was very good...albeit a fairly traditional and straightforward biopic not unlike any number of similar films that come out year after year. Ray, Walk the Line, Capote, and on and on. Frankly, I couldn't help but think to myself "man...this is a desperate oscar grab attempt" while watching Milk. I enjoyed it no less mind you.
Sean Penn is a piece of hollywood trash, I hate this guy. The only role i liked him as was Ned Spicoli. People are all obsessed over how courageous Penn was to tell this story. This story has already been told in hollywood, and it has been told in a far better manner. This movie was a shortsighted ploy.
