ya i do
rollerblading is like skiing in other ways too, like most people cant even stap when they first try. i want to get 270 on/off ect. this summer to make mine better on skis without having to spend half of the summer learning a new sport. all im saying is i hope boone has something sick in store, you know???? and btw i build my own summer jib setup, so dont bring that up for improving over the summer.

Inline skating is quite a bit more challenging than skiing...its a lot less forgiving and requires way better  balance for landings. Your skates are usually around a foot long which is a lot less to land on.  Most skiers will still get the hang of it fairly quickly though

Allen, I have no idea why you are hating on boones concept for a roller ski considering we have nothing to judge it by other than the guy who writes for boone saying it'll drop summer 09 with roller in the name.  Give the guy a break.

Otherwise, to comment on the kid that said skiing is way under-progressed in comparison to skating, I'd have to disagree.  Although skaters have been doing doubles in the pipe for alot longer that skiiers (actually, if i remember right, the first double was thrown like 8 some years ago, anyone back me up??)  but anyways, competition wise, the first doubles are being thrown just recently, but skiers have to deal with completely different conditions than skaters do.  22 ft variable pipe walls (shit gets torn up) vs. 14 ft hard, perfectly "groomed" walls.  170 - 180 cm long things strapped to your feet vs. Blades the size of your feet (Yes it does make a difference on how fast you can flip).  Snow conditions affecting speed vs. bearing speed.  All of these different variables make skiing soo much different than skating in the pipe at least.  Elsewhere those factors make it different as well, but I was just looking at the pipe.

Granted, Skating helps tremendously with balance, muscle memory, and, in all honesty, courage.  Learning a 2 onto a handrail over concrete without a jump in the summer makes having the courage to try it in the winter that much easier.  Having problems sliding rails both ways on skis?  Strap on some blades and find a small rail to hammer out your slides.  Spinning, although you can't really practice spinning your dub cork 12's on blades, learning sw 7's or right 5's or landing switch on blades makes spinning on jumps easier as well.  Basically if you learn it on concrete, learning it on snow becomes so much easier.

Skating is amazing, and I wouldn't trade the 9 years I've done it for anything.  It's to bad the falls hurt so damn much otherwise I'd still be doing it as much as I used to.   I have so much respect for those guys in the videos above, they throw down so hard and rep their sport even though they get shit in return.  If you are bored during the summer, go to your local skate shop if you have one or find a pair of skates online if you don't and learn some new tricks and have a damn good time. 

Just my thoughts.  Oh and if there are any kids in the central coast area of california who want to get together and skate him me up.

To look cool rollerblading you have to be absolutely amazing at it.

To look cool skateboarding all you need to do is stand there. 

In a way its similar with skiing/snowboarding.  But not as much.

I mentioned him earlier i think, but i might be the only one that owns the original Hoax too, hahahahahaha, and asianallen, he does have his own pro model. Looks like a retro vans graphic on crack.... i kinda like it. Too bad Valo skates are just a Roce Majestic 12 skate with a cover over it. Incase no one knows what that skate is.... it came out like 10 years ago. (disclaimier, it maybe the roce khuti, but either way it is just an older skate with a new cover, khuti was prob my most favorite skate btw)

I started rollerblading on Khuti's before switching for TRS's. Brings back memories of good ol' days!
I dont really skate anymore (I ride bmx...) except when I go blading with the g/f but I still have a LOT of respect for bladers. One thing I find with rollerblading is, it's hard to show people how it can look good, stylish and how it can be technical. Even if you show them the best edits on the web, they still arent concinved. Nothing beats putting on a pair of skates and trying it yourself...then you'll understand how much skills it takes to make it look good and do some crazy tech stuff.

WOW, mad respect for all you bladers, i tried today and did ok, got a mizou, 3, one foot grind thing (soul), and a couple other small things, but then got worked, i miised soul foot on a mizou and it went on top of the box, hit my hip soo hard my leg went like numb.   and that wasnt even a bad fall, you guys get torn up.  MAD MAD RESPECT,
