that boat has come and is kinda gone. "Afterbang" has been with rollerblading long before you knew what skiing was probably, but it was just called style. people still do it now if you watch that Murda Mike edit PCparkfreak put up you'll see what i mean, it's just not as exaggerated. Franky morales,vinny minton, fuck, watch some Kevin Gillan, dustin latimore, John Starr, louie zamora, Jason marshall, for some old footy of it. so, "reached" i don't know about that, skiing will see a fade in afterbang and a decline in popularity..... just like rolling did. It will take time, but you will see it.

Eh, so I'm the only one that thinks the flailing arms on every trick looks ridiculous? Like I said, I'd give them respect if they didn't look so lame doing everything. Sick tricks count for nothing if you flail, in any sport.

i'm confused on what the heck you are even talking about. I saw what you wrote the first time and just ignored it because I havne't a clue what you are talking about. I see ski edits with guys flailing their arms around more than what skaters ever would. If anyone can find that edit of the kid that put an edit out last season where his arms were everywhere ( i mean fully extended flipping back and forth to help him spin on and off the rail, +k) please post. Kid was good just had that weird thing that everyone was like, "You're good , but what's with your arms being everywhere?" like i think you saw one or two examples of it and decided that's what skating is all about.

unless, you saw some footage from like when skating first started. Like arlo eisenberg , b-love days, then i could see where you are coming from, but pretty sure you are not seeing things clearly with those glasses of yours........ btw i sensed your suttle sarcasm.

You're comparing amateur ski edits with what I assume are pro skaters posted here. Mike Douglas aside, you won't see many pro skiers waving their non grabbing arm all over the place.

true, but still not seeing this "hands in the air wave em like you don't care" thing you are referring too. I see pros in other sports doing the same thing, granted some do it way more than others (within each perspective sport) but there is nothing out of the ordinary with what rollerbladers do. I think you just have some predetermined prejudice (like everyone else) with rollerblading and have no other viable reason to "not have respect for it". and yes, i said rollerblading, that's pretty much what's it called, i guess i'm supposed to call it "rolling" now but whatever I've been doing it for longer than anyone on this site i'm sure so i will call it that until i hear the current accepted term.

these are my buddies, Erik, the guy who looks like a trendy Jesus, really got me into skating. rollerbladers have a much more accepting sense of community than skateboarders do in my opinion. there arent as many of us and we band together to for rebebl factions to fight the genral populous of skateboarders through guerilla tactics and bombing campaigns. fuck yeah.

Most skiing tricks come from skating, we all just copy other sports. I ski becuse skating was way to hard and you have a greater chance to get hurt. Skiing is for pussys unless you are droping cliffs and skiing big lines. Dub flips in the pipe was like 8 years ago on skates, and landing on skates is a shit ton harder then skis.

i'm pretty sure i didn't understand much of what he was trying to say, and i would hope he would deal with it ok, he's a big boy now. But this good point that you talk about....... i guess, rollerblading adjusts to what's cool, i don't know why he brought it up, cuz it was off topic, but congrats on a good point i guess.

Doesn't everything the masses do involve what's cool? I don''t always follow it, but that's how other trends progress because it is different then the norm and helps change the minds of more and more ppl. Then that start up trend turns into the norm and yet another little trend begins (it's a cycle, but i'm sure you already knew that) so if that was his point, GREAT, let's move on

Wait until you see the new BOONE SKATESKEEZ... Going to be sick for practicing urban and pipe when there's no snow around!!!  The concept and design is nearly complete - the timeline for release will depend on manufacturing/suppliers.  Planned release is late summer '09!
