Patching Snowpants

My snow pants like many others have tearing at the bottom as well as a lot of tiny cuts near the bottom cuffs. I've tried ductape but it doesn't hold up in the cold. Had anyone here used an iron-on patch for their snow pants? If so how exactly did you go about it? Any help is appreciated.
