Replying to 03/04 Twin Reviews
Went to demo day at the local mountain today:
Here's what I skied and a quick review
Dynastar Troublemakers (175):
Nice, flexible ski that makes quick radius turns very well; is too flexible for gs turns or anything at high speeds. Handles decently at powder, but wider skis are better for a true powder ski. Good all mountain compromise ski
K2 Public Enemy (179):
Moderate flexible; handles well at speed and seems to prefer longer turns instead of short radius. Width is helpful in the powder. Nice kick off the tabletops in the park.
Volkl V-Pro (180):
Stupid rep didn't wax the ski, so review is somewhat skewed. Makes very nice long radius turns; struggles at short-radius. Handles well in powder and in the park
Fischer Airstyle NT (180):
One of my favorite skis of the day; stiff and easy to turn both long and short radius. Wide enough to handle well in the powder; works well in the park too
Salomon 1080 (161):
Probably the best east coast ski I was on all day; gripped well on ice; very easy to turn with (long and short); handles well in powder too; nice kick in the park; also cuts through the crud on the slope as well as being very light
Salomon Pocket Rocket:
My favorite ski of the day; they would not sink in the powder; easy to turn and very light--even with the demo track; does not handle well at any high speed; too flexible for groomers
Hope this helps
