To Debadge or Not to Debadge?

What do you guys think of shaved/debadged cars? Personally i think audis/vws look fuckin sick debadged, but some cars like benzes look better badged. I have an 06 impreza wagon and am thinkin about debadging the subaru and the impreza on the back, but leaving both subaru emblems. I just think i like the cleaner look. what do you guys think?

I wouldn't do it to a subaru personally, but thats just me. Maybe to an STi but that's about it.

nah man the badge is there for a reason. used to be your car was only debadged if the badge got stolen. maybe if you build the entire car from the ground up and just use the body, but you've gotta pay some credit to the maker.

Nah son, thats just silly.

A lot of people take em' off because it looks cool.

A murdered STi without badges looks sick. Considering SUBARU takes up the entire back of the car.

But you don't have to pay credit to the maker when you drop your money on the car. Its yours.

I've seen it before on an STI, but never just an impreza. It looked good on the STI, so i dont think it would look much different on  your car. I say go for it.

well its not sti, but i am getting 5% tint and a spoiler pretty soon, and some black rims sometime within the next year or two, so yeah im thinkin it should look pretty ill. btw the configuration is subaru stars and swoosh emblem in the middle, subaru on the bottom left, and impreza on the bottom right. i dont wanna take off the subaru emblem cuz that one has pegs so would be super sketch. but i definitely like the idea of people not knowing whether its a wrx or what

no just base impreza, but i plan to have it looking basically like a wrx, without the hood scoop (adding rear spoiler, tinting, etc) and yes it is a wagon. i dunno what brand, but i wanna go with something black with a pretty big lip i think

yeah, i suppose it depends on how much pride you hold in the brand. for instance, i personally would never debadge a subie, but if i was to get, say, a ford, that thing would be debadged before i even drove it off the lot.

i have mad pride that its a subie, thats part of why im leaving the stars and swoosh emblem, so that those who know what that emblem is (and if theyre too retarded to know that, then screw em) know its a subie and know i take pride in it. na mean?

like everyone else said, it's personal preference. I like being debadged, I only have the rings on the back of my Audi but it's not for everyone.

DO what you think looks cool, as long as it doesn't make your car look stupid.

same, some cars I would, some i wouldnt~ Like I take pride in Audis so if I were to ever get one I would never ever de badge it~ but it it were like a hyundai maybe

I think it cleans the car up, my jetta just has the VW logo on the trunk and I would take that off too but its recessed in there so itd look like trash.... As far as pride for your brand goes, you know what you drive and anyone who likes it will know what youre driving too

This summer I am going to debadge my a4...and then put a small italian flag logo on the trunk where the 2.8L would be. Depends on the car, I think sub. would look nice

it's cool when old toyotas just say yo. Making your base impreaza look like a wrx is gay. Everyone will know you don't have a turbo and laugh at you. DOn't front like your impreza is anything special because it isn't, save your money.

If it was an 04-05 i would say debadge it but the 06=07 only have the wee subaru crest and that looks fine on there.  If you have a wagon nobody is going to think that you have an STI anyway so why bother.

pay some credit to the maker? didn't you just drop a few (thousand) grand on the damn thing?

"debadged" looks damn good... just make sure you have something under the hood that can back it up, otherwise it looks like you took the badges off to hide the fact that you can't afford a cool car, so you'll do anything you can to make it look sweet as fuck.

that's the thing- they look so much cleaner and soooo much less like some soccer mom's car. i can't drive a block here in Vegas without getting behind at least one BMW or Subie that's been debadged (we call it "cleaned" out here... i'm only saying "debadged" because the thread creator used the word) and there are few cars that look more elegant than a debadged, washed-and-waxed, tinted baby with some shoes on 'er. there's a difference between what Rowen was talking about- the faggot Mustangs and Impalas with stupid fucking rims and loud exhaust systems that have been cleaned up because the visor-wearing cunt behind the wheel thinks it goes well with his tribal license plate frame- and a truly classy tint, rimz, and body cleaning job.

Yeah I debadged by a4, just the A4 and 1.8T not the rings, and it makes it look so much cleaner. Definitely do it, you will not regret it.
