its almost that time again and i really want to do up tuckermans this year. So i am getting a season pass for mount snow and attitash and crotched and jack frost/big boulder when they come out. ( i belive the 14) and i was wondering if cortched or attitash is anywhere near tuckermans becuase i have a whole week off and dont wanna ski just tucks. ]

also can you just hike up or skin up cause on a site i was on it says one trail is only for skinning up and what else should i bring for the hijke

bring food, water, and a bottle :] .....i dunno maybe snowshoes for the hike and shovel.....idont think avalanche beacons will be needed but i could be wrong

you can either hike or skin up...it depends on when u go...i went at the end of april last year and you had to hike like 20 min. to put your skins on and you could ski most of the way down...the best time to go is prolly middle of april or so...bring alot of food, water, and a special drankkk...make sure you pack only what you wanna carry...when you get to the cabin or into the snowfield you can dump some shit so you don't have to carry it while u ski...ill be hittin it upp sometime

Center headwall is 50-55 degrees. The rest is 45 +/-5.

I know of a spot that's 58.1 degrees. It's super extreme so you'll want to drink an entire 2 liter of Mountain Dew if you go rip it:)

God willing im going up this week.....to get conditions check the website and weather channel...i tell NS how conditions are when i hike it.....but if its to icy im not gonna ski it ....when i went in May the snow wasnt too bad

LOL...thanks for the concern...but saying dont die because there might be an avalache is like saying dont jump from an airplane because your shoot might not open...im glad your concerned though

Yes it is corn snow, I went around april 20th or so last year and the snow was very soft and heavy.

The hike to the hut is about 1.5 hours, half hour to the base of the bowl and then the hike up the bowl just depends out high you go.  I suggest going above the headwall and finding chutes down it, some good and fun lines, the headwall is much better than the gullies since everyone gets scared off by the headwalls and just go in the gullies.

I plan on going back this year on my april vacation, probably patriots day week.
