ns mountian would be pretty fucking sick.  should buy an east coast resort.  close to water.  and just build the sickest shit.  have photo shoots for all movie crews.  man that'd be ill.

An all NS hill would be the craziest place to ride. Ever.

It had better have some pow skiing too. Gnarly chutes and spines, big airs with steep landings, and a nice pucker factor.

Stowe Mountain anyone?  AIG owns it and, if you have been reading the news, they have been recieving billons of dollars and they have a lot of pressure to raise capital from the government.  So if someone wants to contact AIG, we could have a ski resort on the cheap.  I have no clue about the price, but if 55,000 members contributed $2,000 you would have $110,000,000, probably enough. (NOTE: I have no clue what ski reosorts are worth)

As for upkeep, you would have to keep the mountain open to the general public for keeping things running.  One could close off 25% to 50% of the mountain to NS members, build a nice few parks, and keep the rest of the mountain open to gapers.

Just my two cents.

First off there is no way this is going to happen.

Second, I am not trying to get into an arguement, but think about how much you pay for a season pass year in and year out...  that $2,000 fee would be a one time fee, not every year.

Summer ski area on MT/WY border, last I heard it was for sale

Antelope Butte in the Big Horn Mountains, around 1,100 vertical feet, some good terrain. Owners go divorced and area went bankrupt. Forest Service is trying to sell it for cheap so they don't have to take everything down.

Shitty resort in the big horn mountains, lake at the base would be good for lots of snow making. Got shut down by the forest service for dumping sewage in the lake. Pretty sure it is up for sale.

Marshall Mountain near Missoula Montana. I saw it in a real estate magazine, the asking price seemed pretty modest for a ski area.

sooo NS has what...100,000 members?  aliases discounted.....every member would have to pay 100$ to make it to $1 million.  cheapest ski resort is going to be at least 3-4 million.  so every member would have to pay 300-400$.  where is this resort going to be?  east coast?  west coast?  rockies?  either way youre making it impossible for most NSers to even ride the resort....SO....youre askine people to pay 300-400 for nothing...then...whoes going to be buying lift tickets?  if i payed 300-400$ to buy a resort, i would not expect to pay for a pass.  and i assume if its a NS resort, it will be all park.  so if NSers dont pay for passes, where the income coming from?  then put on top of that 3-4 million how much it is going to cost to run the mountain...snowmaking....lift ops....patroller or 2 & equipment....jibs....grooming...insurance.....youre looking at like 5million-10million$ a year right there....

no way this will ever work

i bet almost any mountain would let us build there park and make it a newschoolers park. It would save them money by not have park crew and give us a park and probably make the mountain money by more people from ns going. and it could be just for us. or just buy a run at a ski resort, or rent it. probably not possible but better than getting a moiuntain of our own money wise.

This is kind of the big idea I've had for the last couple years. Buy a small mountain and have a HUGE park. Still trying to figure some things out. I could have a NS member discount and trade x hours of digging for season passes.
I looked at Marshall by Missoula but they are currently working on a forest permit to open up a huge resort there. Would have a 5000' vert. The biggest in the states for a run.

If you're talking about the proposed ski area by Hamilton, that will most likely never happen. They have been trying to get it going for 20+ years and it seems like no one in the area wants it to happen. There is a pretty good thread about it in the MT/WY regionals.

Blue Hills in mattapan,boston massachussetts. It would be cheap im guessing they have like 4 trails and we could open a dank super park. PLUS ITS IN THE GETTOOOOOO so our baggy gear and tallies would be suitable

heres the problem with an all park mountain:

how do mountains make their money?  Day pass sales, food sales, lodging rentals

how many park skiers buy day passes?  how many park skiers buy food at the lodge?  how many park skiers rent condos?
