has anyone ever skied in new zealand im trying to find out witch resorts are the best to go to

Depends what you're looking for man.  Snow Park NZ is sick for just park, Treble Cone is really fun.  If you're looking for steep and deep stuff then definitely hit the club fields around Canterbury.  Temple Basin is awesome, Craigieburn, Broken River all excellent for that.  Hutt is good but can be really windy.  Hope this helps!  PM me if you want more info.

Christchurch, Wanaka, Queenstown are all close to good ski areas in the south island. If you want great skiing go to Wanaka or Queenstown. They are both really close to SPNZ, Cardies and Treble Cone. SPNZ is a sick park. Rated pretty highly. Cardrona has a big park with decent features but can get average in spring. Treble cone has sick pow and steeps but can get tracked pretty quick but also has lift accessed backcountry that stayes fesh for weeks.

You can get a pass for Coronet and the Remarkables, a pass for those as well as Mt Hutt, you could go to www.chillout.co.nz and get a pass for most club fields. go to www.nzski.com to check out passes for Coronet etc.

There is also the NZ Superpass which I think gets you to Hutt, Cardrona, TC, Coronet, and The Remarks

im from NZ and skied there since i was 2 yrs old,
Snow Park is sick and all the pro's go there and has everything, from park pipe and jibs and shit.
Cardrona is an all round MT has good back mountain and the jumps and true table, kinda like jon's jump and i big pipe i suggeest u go in late july/august.
remarkables is good, but coronet and shit is shit.

The NZ Superpass is only for day tickets, so you would buy 10 day passes that can then be used at snowpark, coronet, remarks, tc and mt hutt.

if you want the versatility of being able to choose which mountain get the queenstown only season pass from nzski.com. usually one or the other of coronet or remarks will be open. remarks has good big mtn stuff and a pretty decent park these days too.

other than that, you'll usually get a discount at the other areas if you have a season pass for another mountain.

try using searchbar too, theres a fair amount of info starting to float around about living / working / skiing in nz on ns now

i want to try and move down there next summer after i go ski in utah for the winter,  i like more backcountry but i also am trying to get better in the park so something with maybe a little bit of both is what im looking for thanks for all the info

depends what your looking for..... firstly, you want to be in wanaka, has all round the best vibes and is a sick place to be, its not as commercial and touristy as queenstown, way more chilled and legit people..... stay away from hutt, has more closed days than open ones, and the towns a shit hole.... if your looking just for park, snowpark is you... if you wana ski park in the morning then drop some cliffs in the arvo hit up cardies (or remarkables infact)... and if you just like skiing shoots and cliffs then rock up to treble cone... all three are accessed from wanaka
