Replying to Writers of NS and others

i have been assigned to write a research paper on whatever i choose and of course i chose skiing. At first i thought that this paper would be easy however after talking with my teacher (who roled her eyes when i told her it was going to be about skiing haha) i realized what specifically could i write about skiing?becuase it is a topic of such interest of mine it is hard to narrow down. for example what would my thesis be. what point or argument would i try to get across? I know there have been threads like this that the creator has blatantly asked for help but i would rather just open this topic for discussion in hopes that it might spark some ideas. I thought i could debate wether skiing now or in the past was better. touching on the subject of global warming affecting conditions or the newer technology now. How sponsorship and capitalism are reshaping the competition and also how skiing is often said, is not just a sport, but also a way of life and how this generation of skiers are taking center stage in the continuing progression of skiing. sorry if its unclear. just want to open a discussion although any direct help is much appreciated.
