I'm ridin on the 2009 Line anthem (octoland graphics) and the tips are delaminating and chipping away as is if I've been using them for 10 years when in reality they got about 50 days on them. Does anybody have any suggestions? Should I contact Line about them? I don't know what they could really do at this point. The performance is not really affected but they just look like garbage and I think I've got some form of OCD cuz it pisses the hell out of me everytime I get on the lift and look at these beautiful skis slowly deteriorating after a half season.
Pictures? Anthems have a notoriously soft topsheet, i think its a miracle mine look as amazing as they do. Not sure if its under warranty, try emailing Line or PM'ing one of the guys on here...
i am the same way lookin at my skis. For my chronics i just epoxy them every once in a while. It fixes the topsheet and it looks pretty good. You could always try contating line though but i think it has to be pretty major.
^thats called chipping bud, not delam. it happens to everyones skis. my invaders look liek taht and i put gorilla glue on the chips. my chronics have a soft topsheet, i just let it chip and peel, no big deal. this will not effect your ski. you will not be getting and warrenty for that.
my atomics did that. but i am riding the 06 07 salomon foils, and there are no chips on em cuz of their weird topsheet. all skis should hav a topsheet like my foils.
wow i was just saying how it sucks that they arent very durable. I'm not debating whether its delam or chipping... apparently its chipping, i didnt know wut to say was happening, now i do. I'm not overreacting either buddy, i was just wondering if u guys think Line would warranty this or should I just deal. Im just really surprised at the rate its chipping away, i mean the first week i used them it began to deteriorate. Obviously judging by the last couple pics posted here, there are way worser things that could be happening to my skis haha.
its a dope look, its actually half blue stretch half bling stretch strap.
but i have no idea how it happened i looked at them one day and i saw that, happened on the other ski too and also my older ones did the same so i have 2 sets of invaders with this problem
See, line knows how people love to afterbang. And what's cooler than lighting your tips on fire afterbang? Then everyone can say, "Wow, that dude's on fire!" So line introduced matchstick technology on select batches. Unfortunately, smokey da bear and smackey da frog didn't like the idea and ordered line to help prevent forest fires! So alas matchstick technology was lost.
anthems top sheets are prone to chipping. most skis are. skis have edges, they are sharp. when your skis knock together chipping can happen.
If you've really done 50 days as you say those are holding up amazingly well! I've only had about 23 days on my anthems (wolf ones) and I have about the same level of chipping. My 05/6 pes with the ptex top sheet chipped way worse, though you could just ptex them up again haha.
I think you might be over reacting slightly.. Line probably won't warranty them. I don't think you can say they 'deteriorated' in the first week either. Chipping is normal wear and tear, not deterioration. It might suck that your skis don't look 100% anymore but that happens haha
one, thats not delam, and two, thats not MAJOR at all.
my skis, after about a weeks worth of use, have chips the size of your biggest one coming off after every run, and a chip about 3 times the size of your biggest. I am getting them warrantied, but thats because its very excessive and there is an obvious defect. your is not bad at all, you obviously hit some shit on the trail with your tips... you should see the chipping on my tips
