Super U Road Trip Conquest

Hey guys,

Just noticed that there are still no entries in the Road Trip Conquest over at Super U.ca. What's the deal...do you guys not want to win $3000? ;)

Anyway, just wanted to drop everyone a reminder on the specifics...you've got until March 19th to upload your video to Super U.ca, and at any point between now and March 30th your friends, families and fans can vote for your video so it can be in the top 20%, which will then be judged by Doug & Dave Bishop and PBP's Jeff Thomas, who will announce the winner on April 8th.

So just like last time, this means that the earlier you upload your video the more time there will be for people to vote on it. And if I'm not mistaken most of the finalists in the Early Season Sessions contest were uploaded earlier rather than later. So don't wait till the last second, get on it now!

Why don't you guys extend the date, the date is real early and no on has entered yet.. plus around that time is when all of the colleges and high schools let out for spring break so if you guys moved it back 2 weeks Im sure you would get a ton more edits.

I for sure would have one, but our spring break is that week, so I could get the drive out and about 1-2 days skiing..

Move it back if you want more entries! Think of how many kids are going on road trips during their spring break!

Ya would be super sick if it was moved back. I go to school in CO and our spring break is that week as well. Would love to enter if it was moved back like atleast just a week!

how is watching short crappy edits fun? Id rather have this extended a month so everyone could put out legit edits and make this interesting but they wont change the date..

well to be honest we've had almost a month to enter. it's not superu's fault that nobody has entered yet. it's a contest, contests have rules and deadlines. im not saying they shouldn't extend it but a television editor isn't gonna get a deadline on an episode.

thats a dumb example, Im not complaining that I dont have enough time to make it. Im complaining that all high school and most colleges spring break is the week of the 16th or after. and seeing how this site is made of up 90% college or high school kids that they wont get as many entries and as much exposure as a $3000 competition has the potential to show.

doesnt matter, they wont take it into consideration..

requiring music rights is stupid, don't they realize that ameteur filmmakers don't have the budget to pay for rights to songs??

that is the only thing that has been stopping me from progressing on my edit...

theres plenty of unsigned artists out there that you can use there music for free.  and they require royalty free music because there is a chance is going on TV(says so in the contest rules) so they don't want copyright and royalty issues with labels and artists.  a lot of time you just have to contact the artist via myspace or something and ask.
