Ok I know you're all dying to know the conclusion to this little made for tv mini-series. Now that the state police have resolved the case we can speak, we had to bite our tongue while the investigation was ongoing. The only reason we spoke out at all was to keep someone from getting roped into this problem by actually buying the skis. We didnt think anyone else should go down for this that didnt deserve to.
We at Line Skis do not want anyone to ever have to deal with this kind of trouble or go to jail and have to worry about dropping the soap, but we hope that everyone out there has learned from this example of poor judgement. We did not press or push for the outcome this has ended in, we only wanted our skis back as we know people get what they deserve in the end anyway. A police report was filed on site at the mountain because of all the liability this involved with the demo that these were stolen from. Once the police are involved they are in control and it's not going to end well for those that break the law.
We cannot name any names nor accuse anyone in particular of doing this, but here is the conclusion.
The police have found the person who did this. They eventually fessed up to what they had done and handed over the skis to the police. The skis are now sitting in an evidence locker awaiting their own release, which only lengthens the amount of time we are without them.
The person involved has been charged with a felony involving a mis-use of identity since they impersonated someone else on their registration form at the demo. They were also charged with a misdemeanor larceny for the theft of the skis. There could be some other charges based on some other details as well, plus there are many other repurcussions of this that arent our business to post here.
This is a great community to be a part of and its unfortunate when one of our own betrays the trust and good name of skiing. We hope everyone learned something from this!
Thanks for your support!
