End of my season

well everyone, i went to the doc today to get a verdict on my knee. they are sure my ACL is torn and i might have also torn my lateral meniscus. basically looks like my season is over, which pretty much sucks my balls. i'll post again when i know more closer to my surgery.


...anyone that feels bad for me and wants to blaze up, come find me in mammoth, i got shit-else to do now...

aw, man, i feel your pain. Last year it was my second day up on the mountain and i fucked up my knee. and dont worry about the surgery, its no big deal. it kinda sucks for the first couple of weeks after surgery when your knee is still swollen. Get surgery, do rehab, work hard and dont do anything that they tell you you're not supposed to do, especially for the first 3-4 months after surgery. Just to give you an idea of how long it took my knee to get back to a skiable condition, i had my surgery on April 25 and was able to ski by the end of Thanksgiving break.

Dont get bummed, just be glad you heal. I busted my knee april 1st and was skiing mellow by june 6th. not reccommended, but I hit the PT super hard. make sure to stretch a ton and get your range of motion back. do all the excersizes as much as you can stand. it's so easy to sit around and get wasted and be negitive, so get wasted and be positive. I would get super baked and have huge stretching and weight sessions.
I know it sounds cheese ball, but hang up a sign that says ' try harder' or ' what have you done for your knee today?' it works. you will be a better athlete when its all over.

Well my season ended on december the 14th. So at least you got some more skiing than me. :)

thanks everyone. i started my physical therapy today and depending on what the MRI results of my meniscus are i might be able to ski starting in march on my blown ACL and just wait until this summer to have surgery, so maybe i will be able to get a little filming in this year before its over. i'll keep everyone updated as i know more

Well, the thing is that knee injuries usually happen flukly. ie I spent a day sking throwing it down, then after I was fooling around with some chick and twisted my knee in the snow.
