so i ski 178 anthems, 178 and no less is the ski i prefer to ski on for park and east coast shit, I am about to go into a period where i will be skiing much much more powder so im going to pick up a pair of powder skis... i was looking at skis from 179 to 189 and or around there... for size would i be better off staying around the same size i prefer for park and shit or should i go for the longer high 180s for powder? Baseically would it be better for me to get a longer ski for pow pow or wha? thanks yo
bents at 179. or the ep pros, jj's, bacons, it really depends on what you want in a ski. if i had unlimited skrilla i would have the bents. (but i aint got no money)
i mean the thing is i kinda do got the cash flow, i just dont know if i would go 179 or 189 because i like a long ski but i also like the size of my 178 anthems, so i just dont know if the 189 would be a little to lengthy for my liking
if your staying on the east coast go with a shorter ski because it's easier in tight trees
if your going west get something longer because you don't need to ski the tight trees as much
you're about my size, I got 179 K2 maidens, and they are perfect for trees, pillow lines and shit like that. I went out a bigger ski area with them on a deep ass pow day, and for hauling ass and skiing open faces and stuff I wanted a longer ski by the end of the day for that kind of shit. You just have to decide for yourself what you're going to be skiing most.
im 5'7 and have used 171 park skis for the past few years and i like the size for park. this year i got some ARG's that are 185 and i was worried about the size because im so short. after the first run i couldnt be more happy with the size, rediculously agile for how big they are and i had no problem skiing the tightest tree's and spinning. i'd say don't go anything under 180.
Definitely go bigger, you'll want more surface area, my suggestion is the czars, they're super sick with the rockered nose but not tail so they're still good when you're not on powder.
