Deer Valley vs. UT

I am goin to Deer Valley for a few days over spring break.
Ive skied most of the other mountains in the greater Salt Lake area
(Snowbasin, ALTA, Park City, etc....)

how is Deer Valley?
would it be worth skiin there, or would I be better off just goin somewhere else and not even wastin my time?

if you like groomers and lodges hit it up but

if you want to actually ski go somewhere else

well the reason I was askin was cauze my friend hooked us up with two free days, and i thought id give it a shot
and i have 10 days in UT, so I didnt know if it would be worth actually spendin money there, considerin how expensive DV is

my 53yo dad loves DV. (that gives you a ton of info, read into it)

 now i wouldnt pick dv to ski at (over the other "sicker" areas you could ski) but i had a fun day skiing there. i would suggest going over to Empire mtn, lady morgan.. daly chutes, daly bowl, and Centennial. Then ide also hit up Bald MTn off the mayflower lift and sultan express.

would i pick skiing there, no, when your dad pays for it, and you ski MN 30+ days a year. you enjoy it.

if you are more concerned about comfy lift chairs and gourmet lobster served to you at three different chalets then the skiing.... then go to DV otherwise look elsewhere. nothing but grommers and a nonexistant park.

dv is so lame.. my gfs family took me there ummm pretty much there "park" consists of a set of bumps then some miniture moguls and like a foot tall spine jump thing... its a joke...definatly go to another resort

i skied at dv for a day, and it was pretty sick considering all the old people hardly touched the powder.

they have like some good terrain for a pow day but it all gets tracked and they don't even have a real park so yeah ride PC or Snowbird, Alta, etc.

dont listen to any of these idiots! dear valley is bomb....i had the best day of skiing of my life there. everyone there are gapers....u just gotta hit up the steeps there...and yes there are some and you basically will have the whole mountain to myself besides the four other people that know whats up. i shouldnt even be saying this..anyways i was there when i was in utah and pissed cause i was skiing the bird or alta or solitude or something.....naw fuck that shit was skiing chest deep pow from three days previous and there wasnt another person in sight once i was in the woods. hit it up and if im wrong...ill let u say i told u so but i promise u wont.

I thought it was pretty awesome. We took a 10 day trip with half in Jackson Hole and half in the Utah area. We went to deer valley on our last day and if you just want to rip on some groomers it can definitely be a good time. It's a good winding down day and as the above poster stated, they have some fun terrain...just not nearly as much as some of the other places.

+1 on where he recommends you go
DV has jack shit in the way of park but don't listen to all these kids bashing on it because most of them haven't been there.  DV has shit that makes Jupiter at PC look like a cakewalk and more of it.  on a side note my 53yo dad loves that shit to, they only sell a certian number of tickets a day so there are NEVER lines at the lift.  you can push youself and lap the four lifts above all day or untill you legs turn to jello with out ever waiting for more than 3 or 4 chairs.

do it......all the other PC resorts get soooooo packed that the liftlines will def piss u off, plus there's some pretty decent terrain there.

How can 2 free days be not worth it?  Deer Valley aint that bad.  You get the resort to yourself after lunch since everyone will be in the lodge for tea time.

yeah if it snows definitely go, the powder up there is good and some fun things up there and not a lot of people ski it. If it hasnt snowed for a few days though deer valley blows, also they recently got paid to take out their park near empire out(if you could call it a park) so just expect groomers and moguls all day
