010 Anthems or Kung Fujas

wondering which ones i should get

im just under 6 foot

weigh about 140 pounds

i ski all mountain, bit more park cos im in aus, so powder doesnt really exist

theyd be ex demo, come with jesters, for 600 (thats aussie) each

I ride Anthems. Super soft, yet stable. Fat enough for fresh snow, skinny enought to spin. Cap construction, cheap, soft topsheet. Great super-fat edges and a beefy base. Im 6'2" and ski 178's mounted +1 of center. My favorite ski ever....However i have not skiied the Kung Fujas, i know theyre sidewall construction, mini tip rocker for fresh snow and slushy parks, pretty soft and directional, a little more expensive but maybe worth it for durability? No clue how the edges/base compare to Lines. Id say ride them both and go for whatever suits your skiing best...

I'd say they are completely different skis.

Kung Fujas: All mountain, a little on the stiff side, more for shredding everything

Anthem: Soft, very jib oriented, good on jumps, mostly intended for park

Depends on how much you hit the park.

If you want an excellent all mountain ski thats good in the park, go with the Fujas

If you want an excellent park ski thats good for all mountain, go for the Anthems

Ah I just noticed you said 2010 models. You don't need a rocker if you don't plan on any pow, you'll probably want the Anthems

btw the skis would be 178 anthems or 179 kungs

anyoen knwo how durable lines are? i know k2's are supposed to be bomb proof, and i dont wanna shell out for new skis every year

where in aus you ski?

i got anthems but only really ski park, but they can be alright in some of the softer stuff.

atleast you understand when i say australia has no powder

how you find the anthems in australian conditions?
durable?

i ski everything (cos some of my mates arnt that great, not good enough for park)

probly more park tehn most all mountain skiers

anthems are a dream in the park, fantastic for allmtn and works for the few rare pow days you might get, i ride woods, steeps, park, just about everything on them and i have no complaints until i got into knee and waist deep pow one day, i mean i could manuver through it, but definitally a diff ski woulda been beter that day.  and the flex is amazing to mess around with (you can basically ollie these things off flat like a snowboarder dose, i was chillin with my snowboard friends and poped hgh enough for a safety off flat ground, but they are still stable enough to f-in haul dude, i got goin so fast on these bombin groomers i got the worst brain freeze ive ever gotten in my life, and i had complete control and no chatter etc.

Anthems have a more durable top sheet than the K2, the sidewall on the K2s make the top sheet chip like a bitch. (I have some sidewall K2s and my friend has some Invaders which are the same construction as Anthems. Mine topsheets look like they've been raped by a chainsaw, and he has only on gouge from where a gaper ran him over)

ok, i have a few things to say about previous remarks.

the kung fujas are in no way "stiff" they are insanely buttery and extremely fun in the park.

and, the topsheet on the kung fujas does not chip easily. im pretty sure you were thinking of the public enemies, as i know for a fact the topsheet chips like a motherfucker.

i feel that the kf's are the complete package. they absolutely rip all mountain and when you so choose to enter the park, they will in no way let you down. they are as good on rails as they are on jumps. they are the most durable and versitle ski i have ever ridden BY FAR, which is why i highly recommend them to anyone. check out my reviews

kung fujas have enough flex in them to butter. people see them as more of a all mountain ski, but really they should be good in the park. look up the reviews on here on the kungfujas. and next years have a little bit of rocker, which, FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, makes buttering easier because u have that pivot point where the ski is rockered. thats not my experience though.

Rockered skis are way fun to butter on, I'm deciding if I want Anthems or the Kung Fuhas or the Disorderly next year... leaning toward the Fujas.. sounds like a way fun ski. 125-95-120.. almost symmetrical with a bi-directional taper which makes switch skiing a blast.. plus a mini rocker.. sounds like a kickass ski to me. Plus, core center is almost directly spot on with true center.

i almost go this years disorderly's, but went with chronics because i didnt think i'd be riding that much park. man was i wrong. i mounted them to far back, so i'm remounting them next season. chronics still slay pow though.

The rocker is so minimal you probably wont be able to notice it. The guys at K2 said the point is to help in soft snow/slushy park situations, i think it could only help a little on rails and presses...

Side wall skis are made to chip so the top sheet doesn't de-lam. Looks like shit but serves its design.
