New Skis

I got brand new line invaders today neveer been used and i was wondering if i need to wax and edge before use or just wax or if i even need to get that done?

you dont need to do either of them they should be eged and waxed right out out of the box....and if you wanna slide rails and stuff i recommend no edging them again

okay, i always got my others edged once every year but i can see how it they are not sharp it makes it easier to slide, thanks bro

if anything you should detune you edges. i detuned my edges for the first time ever when i got my 09 vaders this year and you instantly feel so good on rails

yea i did the same thing with my invaders, i detuned the edges underneath my boot and about a foot in each direction in front and back of the boot

use a gummy stone, or GENTLY with a file.
if you don't have a gummy stone, i would recommends just hitting a few boxes or easy rails.  after a few boxes your edges will be pretty shot.  it does the same thing a detuning them ahead of time.

yea i used a file and it made my life so much easier. my edges are literally rounded.  i like it so much better.

After a day of rails/boxes your edges will be dulled and fine, if you are gonna detune then use a fine gummi or diamond stone.
