Ever Poached the lift line?

Recently got busted not paying for a lift ticket on a Tuesday even though I have a MWF pass.  Couldn't make it on wed because had an EE exam so figured fair trade. Wrong, I had a choice of either paying double a ticket or going to jail.  My mountain doesn't offer a college season pass to my school so it's $810 so I can't afford it.  I have been skiing there for 8 years and pretty much dump all my money into the sport.  I know I was wrong but I is it really all about money with the ski resorts these days? I really expected to get off the hook.

ski resorts take this thing pretty seriously. they probably wont let you off the hook. Its happened to a friend of mine and he got banned for the season at the mountain

Never. Mountains wnat their money or they want your ass busted. Plennnnttyyy of examples of mountains pressuring them into either paying/ban/lawsuit.

i dont doubt you guys but i have poached the lifts often at mt. snow, i know most of the internationals or go when they are not checking.

and yeah, i feel sorta justified paying shit all for 15 years now. but i have been caught a few times and they just say sorry, goodbye. i usually just end up buying/scalping a ticket.

ms has tried to get people in trouble in the past so i guess ur lucky. usually they dont check the double chair tho so its easy to ride up that

I have a pass to Stratton, but there are a bunch of small mountains really close to where I live. I poach all the time, I got caught once and said "Ohhhh shit it fell off" and they let me go. I had legitimately bought a ticket the last week, and it acutally did fall off

i either say i forgot my pass or my ticket fell off. then depending on what time it is i will either buy a ticket or leave.
