Research paper topic HELP!!!!

ok so i am doing a research paper thing for history i need a topic. but the twist is we have to turn it into a bill proposal to send to congress. it can be ANYTHING. plus karma for good ideas. help is needed

Something about the former isolationism of the USA and now its self directed postion as the world police.  You could write something about how they should stay at home from now on sod the world, or how it should be mandated that they interfere, i mean help other countries etc.

something along the lines of the U.S. taking control of the Big Three auto makers (temporarily).  They have wasted enough of our money, and are still asking for more. 

if you look at the Wall Street Journal site you will be able to get some good facts/figures.

Also, I am sure there is a lot written about this so just use google.

you could try making a bill for the US to hold diplomatic negotiations with Iran to diffuse tensions...

or try a bill to withdraw troops within a time frame

or try a bill to reduce or increase spending in the military

or try a bill going towards the drinking age--that someone can vote, enter into the military service and die for the country, but they can't even sit down and have a cold beer


i'll try to think of some more---does it have to be current issues or can it dig into topics 50 years back??

um...let's see

something about abortion, although that could get boring-like making it a national decision instead of state's choice

something about funding for college, like maybe a bill for larger tax breaks for families that send kids to college

something about going back to the gold standard haha

something about more regulations of banks and the housing market(ie something that has to do with the current recession)

something about illegal workers, that they must work for a certain amount of years( give something back to the country) before they can become citizens

something about outsourcing, to bring more manufactureres back into america to better stimulate the economy and close more of the loopholes for private businesses to pay foreign workers less money

something about requiring federal mandates for hearing aids to be covered as medical equipment for insurance companies


if you need anymore just ask...or give me a direction and i can digg out some more

It's been done a million times, and unless you do an amazing job on it your grade will inevitably suffer since so many other people have made such great points.  There are some other good ones here, so I would recommend picking a different one.
