Crossing springs on a trampoline

I figured there would already be a forum about this but i couldn't find one so forgive me if this is a re-post. but anyways
Does anyone know if its legit and works pretty well or if its sorta over rated. let me know if you thanks

it definatly gives you why more height, plus it kind of stablilizes you on the tramp (if that makes any sense)

my buddy did this and one spring snapped, then shot across the yard really fast.

luckily it didnt hit anyone, but just a heads up. dont let fat people on your trampoline

how do i go about crossing them properly?

I did this to mine...It could tear out the holders if you cross too many. I just crossed a pair and left 2 and i can jump probably 1/3 to 1/2 times higher then before the cross. It works fine and it does kind of stabilize/centre you

do not cross your springs, it will just fuck them up. if you have a circle and want more air then your better off just getting a rectangle.

Yeah, it makes you bounce higher, but it will make your tramp wear out faster. It stretched some of my springs realllly bad to the point where they don't even stay on the trampoline. Also a few of the holders ripped out, so that wasn't good. And I'm opposed to going 1/2 crossed half not. then it's not the same tension holding up the trampoline, and the crossed springs will wear faster than the non-crossed.

I'd say overall go for it.

I thought you meant your buddy shot across the yard really fast, and I thought, "Damn, that must have been a hell of a sight." 

My trampoline looks like this:

My friends and I thought the same thing, we were looking at it like, "what the fuck do we do with this?"  They compress, and you'd think they turn the mat, but they don't for whatever reason.  They just provide rebound and they're less dangerous because they're under you instead of on the edges.  The mat has all these clips on the bottom that the white things clip into.

The net is awesome too, it's laced onto those white things instead of just chilling out at the edge of the tramp, and those white bow things eliminate the poles that people inevitably slam into.  Like I said, it's fucking idiot proof.  Thing's the shit.

Just as a warning, if you do get this thing, read the fucking directions before building it.  My retard friends were like, "Fuck directions!" and it took us like 5 hours to build the thing when it should have taken 1, maybe 1 and a half

I have this trampoline at my parents house and just a regular round spring trampoline at my house.  The spring free trampoline bounces so much higher and the net is super nice.  Its defiantly the nicest tramp Ive ever been on besides a gymnastics tramp.

Yeah as of now, dub front is all I got, but I'm trying to get a double back.  I'll post a vid of me doing a bunch of stuff, including launching into the net lol.  Plus, FUCK, it's raining again, and it was supposed to be sunny today, so I have to wait to do it.

I think dub backs are easier than dub fronts. A little more scary because you can't just land on your back of the second flip to learn them, but easier to land because it isn't super blind like the dub front. Practice doing a backflip, but over rotating to your back a bunch. Then just huck it super hard and stay tucked up and all of a sudden you will have done a double back.

Yeah dude that's what I did with the dub front.  The thing is though, I've been doing fronts since I was 10 years old (almost 6 years), and I've only been doing backs for like 2 months, so I'm super comfortable rotating forward and I'm still a little wary of overrotating my backflips.  I can do a front with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back (done it lol)

Bahaha I should've posted that video.  Kind of hard without a real video camera or supportive friends.  And with snow on the trampoline.  But fuck, there's snow!  Built a jump and seshed my 10-ft shotgun rail on Christmas...sick.

Damn, you beat me to it on both counts: the video and the dub front.  I landed on my head once so I stopped, and then at camp Roz (Rosalind Groenewoud) wouldn't teach them to me because dub front is apparently the double "most prone to neck injury."  That was enough to stop me from trying them at home for a long time.

But as soon as the weather and my free time permits (junior year, aiming for acceptance to Brown University...it may be a while until my free time permits), I will make an all-tramp edit so you guys can get a better idea of how the thing works, if you're all still interested.

unless you catch your ankles on the top of the net while doing a cork 7, even doing that the net caught me and it like swung me underneath the tramp , the white things didnt even break, it was gnarly

I crossed my springs and it was awesome, but I had an older tramp. You can never go back once they are crossed, or you will hit the ground all the time. But thats why i crossed my springs, cuz my tramp was basically shot. Its pretty simple to do, take two springs next to each other and make an X, go to the next two and repeat until you made it all the way around.
