haha i saw that at the start of the season, and one of my friends who likes ride alot said i was retarded and they look nothing alike. it's nice to hear someone else agree

I think all k2 and line skis are made in america, i could be wrong on that one though? i can't really speak for ride, but i would assume they are too.

This is an example of larger companies controling the industry....

k2 owns ride

and k2 also owns line

so products can be extremely similar, even if they are different sports

last years anthems featured an airbrush wolf which was pretty much making fun of those cheesy shirts and blankets. why wouldnt line do the same kind of stuff this year

Meanwhile in the line sweatshop in Beijing.....

manager receives the fax and slaps it on the anthems, and the ski goes into mass production.

5 days later at the line headquarters in seattle...

J Lev: so how'r next years anthems coming along?

prototype goon: here they are, straight from beijing!!!

J Lev:!@#@!$!#$!@# WTF!!@#$@!#$!! *proceeds in using the prototype ski to reign terror over the office* SKI AND DESTROY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

prototyping goon: holy shit J Lev is blazed once again! *hides under ski press*

*Line prototyping studio begins to catch fire*

RIP - LINE skis

so the moral of the story is, this is why line should begin to perform drug tests regularly on their employees, that includes even the best of em'

K2 and line are both owned by the same company, but they are highly competitive and don't share artists or technology... according to Schmies and some people i have talked to from Line

Here's the story:

It was a complete coincidence! Surprisingly but yes, we would not try something like this unless it was a purposeful collaboration with Ride Snowboards.  The artist who did the work for us failed to inform us that he was also working with Ride (and using a similar graphic). So once the samples came out we look at Ride, they look at us, and we're like "oh man" and then we moved on and learned from it.

So thats it's, still a sick graphic but a bummer that its not completely original to us. No one's at fault here  but this has taught us in the future to triple check with the arists we're working with.
